Hello,
I want to record a VHS onto a DVD. For this, I have a standalone DVD recorder (Samsung DVD-4121) and a Toshiba VCR.
On my television, there are two SCART sockets. On AV1, I connected the DVD recorder using a SCART cable. I connected it to the AV1 (TV) port of the DVD recorder. On AV2, I connected the VCR with a SCART cable and linked it to port AUX 1.
When I press record, it doesn't work. When I switch the TV to AV2 and press record, the recorder says no signal.
What should I do as it is very urgent?
Also, I had already tried with another cassette and it worked but the film was in black and white.
How can I make it play in color??
Thank you for answering me.

I don't know the inputs/outputs of your recorder. At home, I do it like this.
Output from the scope ------Scart cable to Recorder (3 cinch at the back, 2 audio and 1 video)
Output from the recorder -----Scart to Scart to TV1 and with the remote, I switch to AV -- Everything is good and in color + sound....
If this can help you...............A+++

Please note that we sometimes end up... SUCCEEDING.

I think I succeeded. I found a paper where it explained for my DVD player (as if they couldn't include it in the manual). I managed to connect everything. I hadn't connected the yellow, red, and white wires at first.
In the end, I connected the SCART plug from the VCR to the (AV2 ext) input of the DVD recorder.
One SCART plug to the TV and to the DVD recorder (AV1 TV).
Finally, I connected the red, white, and yellow wires to the TV and to the AV OUT terminals at the back of my DVD recorder.
Thanks for your help, see you later!
