My DVD player says unknown disc

Hello,
I have a DVD player from the brand Daytek that is supposed to read all types of files, but when I try to play my burned DVDs, it says unknown disc.
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

    Are your burned DVDs pre-recorded or ones you made yourself? Have you tried with other DVDs, what were the results?
