Uh, you can't convert a text file to a reg file, at least not like that.
What's the purpose of the operation?

If the problem is resolved, please remember to mark the call as resolved with the icons at the top of the message. "We're never obliged to do anything, but take responsibility for what you do." For responses, don't forget that the people helping you are doing it for free and need sleep too :-) Make their task easier; be SPECIFIC and COMPLETE in describing the problem.
If no one replies to your message, perhaps it is really too confusing, make an effort, and you will encourage others to make an effort as well... (Reread the CHARTER)... Madmyke-

I don't know the technical details, but if you need to rename it, it's child's play; just right-click on your file and choose "rename," then change it as indicated.

Ah, so your file explorer is in "simple" mode. You need to go to Properties => Tools => Folder Options => View => uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" and the one underneath it.
This way, your extensions will become visible and you can change them.
