Epson SX205 odd ink cartridge

Hello,

I have installed compatible ink cartridges for the Epson SX 205 printer, but the real problem is that once installed, the ink levels show full but it is impossible to print anything.

Only the photocopier works, but it produces poor print quality, plus I cannot perform any head cleaning or anything. I want to know if anyone has had this problem and, if so, how they resolved it.

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Hi, yes I had the same problem and I got Epson cartridges then.

Best regards, Chris.

I also have a problem using compatible cartridges from the Carrefour brand; the cartridges seem to work, but now it's the printer that locks the use of any cartridges other than the brand's. So warning messages are systematic, and the printer refuses to work even though the cartridges are still full.
Once again, the consumer is held hostage; we are all cash cows.
If someone has found a way to use compatible cartridges with this printer, please let me know. For others, it might be best to avoid buying EPSON and find a brand that tolerates compatible cartridges.
Fortunately, today consumers have the internet to stay informed and warn others of possible abuses; let's take advantage of that. As far as I'm concerned, I plan to boycott EPSON in the future.
See you later ;-)

I'm having the same issue, I bought EPSON cartridges but of the T type and not the one recommended in the manual, however I had already bought this type of cartridges when I ran out of black ink, and until now, there was no problem. Likewise, when I ran out of color ink, I had to buy some (so I took the same T type), and there was no problem there either. This time, since the black ink cartridge isn't filled enough to ensure printing, I bought a new one yesterday, but unfortunately, when I follow the cartridge replacement procedure by pressing the stop button, nothing happens... (no indication of the empty cartridge)... I don't know what to do anymore.. Yet the system moves when I turn on my printer.. could it be a contact issue with the button???

Thank you for your help if you can!

It's been a few years since we've had Epson printers, but last July I bought an SX 205 and after ten days of use, I had a cartridge problem and couldn't print. They took the printer back under warranty and exchanged it for another SX 205, but with the compatible cartridges, I've used more ink in cleaning than in printing. And I've used far more cartridges than the value of the machine. I think I will take advantage of the warranty, which hasn't expired yet, to get it repaired (hoping it will be deemed irreparable).

Good evening
I am reviving this topic to say that cartridges, whether compatible or original, tend to dry out especially if we print infrequently.
If a color is missing, for example, print in blue or green without the red, it means that a nozzle is clogged:
You need to remove the cartridge in question using the printer's software,
clean the nozzle located at the back of the cartridge housing (small tip) with a cotton swab soaked in 90% alcohol or burning alcohol,
wipe off the excess ink + alcohol with a dry cotton swab,
reinstall the cartridge using the same procedure as a new one with the printer's software
it has nothing to do with a protection, it's more of a malfunction!
For compatible cartridges, it's true that there are messages but that's all.
At my place it works well, the colors have come back.

Yes, I also had that unpleasant experience of wasting the price of 4 compatible cartridges for nothing. It worked, but it bled and every other line was invisible (so it didn't really work). Except that I just changed the black cartridge for an Epson one, and everything is fine for Word documents, but I can't print my tax return without white streaks (like when the cartridge is running out and there's only every other line left). What can I do because it's an Epson!!!!

Good evening, I have also been using this printer for a few months and I have some cartridge problems... To replace a cartridge (even with a compatible one), you need to press the button with a red circle and triangle for the first time. This informs us about the empty cartridge. Then, by pressing the same button again, you can change the cartridge. Lastly, press it one more time and the cartridge is recognized and the printer returns to normal operation. Except for one time when I had to change the black cartridge, it wouldn't "hear" anything because I hadn't "confirmed" the cartridge replacement which was in a hidden window in my taskbar that I didn't see... So after that operation, everything was back to normal! But I am surprised and annoyed because it asks me (too often) to replace the cartridges and when I weigh and shake them, there is still a lot of ink left!!! So either the problem is with the printer, or it comes from the compatible cartridges (but not that much!).

I hope I was able to provide information about the Stylus 205...

Safe travels.

MAKES YOU + CHE... with cartridges called "compatible EPSON"!!! Buy 100 ml bottles and empty cartridges from boutique-cartouche that you will fill yourself! You won't get scammed anymore!

Much cheaper! And it works!!!!

Hello!!

Like you, I have the Stylus SX205 and it only accepts Epson cartridges!!! Neither refilling nor "compatible" cartridges work!!! It's a real pain......
Moreover, I don't know about yours, but mine is really noisy, I can't wait to replace it!!!!

So if this can help you, you need to change your cartridges!!!

Kisses!!!

I need my documents by Monday because the teacher asked me to work online for research on children's rights.

It is Carrefour that is at fault for marketing cartridges while Epson protects its printers (which is within their rights in their country).

Hello

I have a stylus SX 205 that works with generic Epson cartridges; it prints for photos but no longer for documents. Do you have an answer? Thank you

As you checked that the cartridge is properly perforated? Have you pulled the tab so that air can come in?
