Bluetooth Issue Samsung SBH500...

Solved
El Diablo -
 Bilel -
Hello everyone, I have a little problem...
I just acquired a Samsung U600 and at the same time the Samsung SBH500 headset!
I charged my headset until the light turned blue, so I unplugged it and turned it on.
So far, nothing unusual, until I searched for Bluetooth devices with my phone, which didn't detect anything...
No matter what I do, it doesn't detect it, even after turning them back on (the phone and headset...)!

If anyone has a solution to this problem... because at €49 for the headset, it's a bit heavy...

Thanks in advance!

1 When you turn on the headset, you need to hold the button for 15 seconds, the headset light stays blue without blinking.
2 With your phone, search for Bluetooth devices, once you find your headset, the code is 0000.

Indeed, my method works. I also thought the headset was defective.

    Method:

    The headset is off:

1 - Press the button representing a phone in the center of the right earpiece.
2 - While holding this button, turn on the headset.
3 - The sync happens in a maximum of 4 seconds.

Same for my Xperia X10, I'm saved
my Philips battery died today, so it works with the jack but I can’t control the headset anymore, and working in the vineyards it’s a bit of a hassle. The only downside of the SBH 500 is that with my dreadlocks, the headset is less practical to wear lol thanks man.

    Hello everyone,
Well, after a lot of time and research about the drivers for the Samsung SBH500 Bluetooth headset, I finally found the solution.

And it works on all OS (including Windows seven 32 & 64 bits).

You just need to go to this link: [url]https://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth[/url] and download the file.

Start the installation and let it complete.
Set up Windows to recognize it as an audio device (control panel, sound,...).

    And that’s it.

I hope this helps some of you ;)

    Hello everyone!

As a happy owner of a U600 and a SBH500... I have tried your methods and nothing works, let me explain

The hands-free works, I can pair my phone, but for playing mp3s... when I want to start playback through the Bluetooth Stereo headset, the menu stays on [Main]SamsungSBH500, I can press select, but nothing happens!

    Can anyone help me?

    Thank you

I have the same problem with the U600 (and player style), whether with a Bluetooth headset or an earbud.

When we select "play via Bluetooth headset", the phone finds the headset, but when we select it, it just switches between "stereo headset" and "[main]stereo headset".

If anyone knows how to do it, thank you.

    Hello
I just bought the Samsung SBH 500 to connect with my Nokia 6086 because I was told that for the radio, you need a stereo Bluetooth (according to a seller, but not a technician)
However, despite the connection (I can listen to music and make calls), I can't get the radio
    Does anyone have a solution
    Or did I get tricked?
    Thanks in advance

Small clarification for some: in order to listen to the radio, you need a wired headset, which is essential as it serves as a reception antenna. The salesperson who would offer you a Bluetooth headset for this specific use would either be quite foolish or a real scammer, your choice... :)

Thank you for the response regarding the radio
indeed, a young member of my team explained the issue with the antenna
but I confirm that the seller in this store told me that a stereo one was needed and wanted to sell me one for €120 last year, which I found expensive
and this year at €50 I didn't hesitate
however, if I plug in a wired earphone (actually just the jack if I can find the broken ones) do you think it will work?
        thank you
otherwise the connection method works well on my Nokia 6086 and also on my laptop (to listen to the radio at my workplace up to 10m)

Thank you for the response, I tried but it still doesn't work...
It plays the music normally as if the headphones weren't connected, and I can't access anything from the headphones (phone, mp3...)
    Yet it is properly connected!
Maybe there's something else to validate on the phone?

(I turned on the headphones by holding the phone button, connected to them, put on an mp3 and it plays through the speakers and not the headphones, the headphones start blinking a few seconds after I release the button...)

It's all good, I found the "problem", which wasn't one.
I'll explain for those who struggled like me (you never know :p):

      - Turn on the headset by holding down the "phone" button.
      - On your phone, go to menu, applications, bluetooth, my devices, search for new devices, find the Samsung SBH500, code 0000, and connect.
      - The "bluetooth headset" icon will then appear.
      - Choose the music you want to listen to, hit "Stop" (down arrow), then "Play via...". Click on "Bluetooth headset" then Samsung SBH500.
      - That's it, the music is playing through the headset!

Hoping to have helped a few of you!

      See you later! :p

Hi! If you have another solution for me, I would be grateful. I have the SBH500 and I tried to listen to the music from my phone using your method, but it didn't work! On my J600, there’s no "play via..." option, and I tried with the method from the manual but nothing. And if anyone has a solution, thanks for sharing it on the forum.
      Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
I just read your issue, and I thank you for raising it because I just ordered the SBH500 myself an hour ago :)...
Firstly: I would like to know if the method raised by "El diablo" worked for everyone.
And secondly: What do you think of the headset: sound quality, sound power, etc.?
    Thank you for responding
    Best regards
    Nicolas.

      Hello,

You just had to follow the method provided by sacha67 in the first response... with the slight nuance...

That you need to hold down the phone button before even turning on the headset, then keep it pressed until the light stays on solid blue... you have a few seconds to search for the device from your mobile,

For example, for the U700 the function is found in:

      Menu/Settings/Network/Bluetooth/My devices/Search for new device

Then type (when prompted by the mobile) 0000

And it's in the box ;-)

Fabienst, a big thank you to you for solving the connection issue between a mobile phone and the Samsung SBH 500 headset.
Like everyone else, I had a lot of trouble connecting it with my PlayerStyle and I even prepared my return package and contacted customer service until I pushed my search further and stumbled upon this forum with your article! So thank you again, and if one day I can return the favor...

    Hello everyone,

It's crazy what problems this wonderful headset can pose, like you "El Diablo", with my u600, I struggled to get the sbh500 working, but thanks to you, that nightmare is in the past!!! ;-)

But today, I'm also reaching out to anyone who can tell me if it's possible to listen to the radio through my headset as a Samsung u600 owner??? :-)

      Hello!

I bought that famous Bluetooth headset, and I have the same mobile as you!
Not having seen a second request from you, I figured you had finally found the solution, and I humbly ask you to share it with me (if you know it), as I'm about to merge that ****** headset with the wall.

      Thanks a lot in advance!

Regarding the radio, I gave up because
you need a wired headset (which acts as an antenna)
otherwise, for the rest, it works following the described method
        but it is very fragile
        best regards

I have had this headset for 2 days now. I managed to connect it to my phone (Samsung G600).

However, I have a few small problems...
    - The headset disconnects by itself from the phone after 30 seconds; is this normal?
    - When I receive a call, I can only answer it from my phone, and I have to manually send the call to the headset after answering on the phone.

If anyone has a solution to these problems, I would appreciate it...

Here, I bought a ptbl U600 too and a PULSAR 590E headset, and when I connect it, it works fine, but when I try to play through the Bluetooth stereo headset and click on the name of the headset, it adds [Main] in front but nothing happens. If I click again, it just removes the Main, and if I go back while leaving it on Main, then playback happens somehow from the phone and not from the headset...

Please respond quickly, it’s starting to annoy me^^

Thank you very much for your responses, which also helped me not to return this product to the sender!

However, we lament the pitiful level of the manual.

A small clarification regarding some "remedies" that were proposed: the maintenance of the "phone" button must be done before turning the device "ON". In clear terms, you need to keep the button pressed, and switch it to "ON" while continuing to hold it. After a while, it turns solid blue (without flickering).

Thank you again and best wishes.

Hello everyone, here's my problem: I bought a Samsung Player Style and the Samsung headset SBH500.
I managed to connect it without any problems to my phone, but unfortunately my phone can no longer pick up the network. So I looked for the SBH500 manual to disconnect the headset from the phone (because I’m going to take my phone to the repair service, and if they replace it I won’t be able to reconnect the headset as it’s a unique connection). Thanks for your help.

Same thing, I managed to connect my headset with the HTC pro, but impossible with my PC (Sony). It recognizes the headset, I can even control play and stop for the mp3s, but the sound always comes out of the speakers, not through the headset; frustrating...

carllewis, in your sound and audio device settings, make sure that for playback and recording the correct device is selected, namely your Bluetooth headset and not your sound card.

Hello everyone... my girlfriend had trouble with the same headset and actually to start the search for the headset, you need to hold down the phone button on the headset and then turn on the headset... while continuing to hold the phone button on said headset. The headset light turns blue and stops blinking... start searching for the headset with your mobile phone and it should work... the connection code is 0000... good luck to everyone.
