Hello everyone!
So, until today, my computer was detecting my mp3 player, but today, I plugged it in and it doesn't recognize it.
I'm using a Creative Zen V Plus. When I plug it in, my computer makes the characteristic sound of a USB drive connecting, then once my player turns on, there are two little sounds, and the computer doesn't detect anything.
So, if anyone has a solution! Thank you! :)

Hello! I've tried all the USB ports on my PC and none of them work with my MP3 player. I tried it on another computer, and it detects my MP3! Now, my mouse isn't working on my PC either. Fortunately, my graphics tablet is still working on my PC even though I'm using the same cable with my MP3 and my tablet.
I recently had a serious virus, could it be related? (USB flash drives still work on my PC).
Thank you for your help!

I formatted the MP3 from another PC, plugged it back into my PC, and it's still the same thing (feeling stuck...).
And I don't want to format my PC (I don't want to start over, back everything up, reinstall everything ...).
And you don't seem to be saying you're good at PC repair ^^!
So I don't really know what to do :/
So either I keep using another PC to put music on my MP3, which is quite inconvenient. Or I try to repair Windows. To repair Windows, I took a look at the webpage you gave me, and I don't understand much of all those technical terms for me, so in that case, I would need some explanations.
So, what do you think would be the best thing to do?
Oh yes, also on the webpage, they talk about a CD, but I can't quite see which one, it must be my dad who has it if he does.

It turns out I don't have any exclamation points in the location you indicated :/
For a system restore, it’s not really a solution that suits me.
So I guess I only have the last solution you gave me, to repair Windows with the installation CD :/
If there are no other solutions, how should I proceed?
Thanks for your help!
Edit: Sorry about the mouse... it was just that I ran out of batteries... so the problem only lies with the mp3, my apologies. But I prefer it this way! So, maybe you have a solution for the mp3?

At the same location I indicated, right-click on each USB line (one by one) and each time click on properties, check for each line that everything is "enabled", possibly for testing, but without conviction, uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" (in the "power management" tab)
Is your PC a laptop?
Is your OS XP?

Is your OS XP?
According to the advice you gave to the previous user, I checked the yellow question marks, then checked the peripherals and validated the "enabled" mode... still nothing..
In the device manager, the PC does not detect the MP3 player. In fact, there is a sound when physically plugged in, but nothing appears in the manager.

Hello!
The link for the first driver worked last time, so I had a chance to try it (it didn't work).
The next two links bring me to the same driver in the end, and it doesn't work. However, the second link, before making me download the same driver as the third link (I hope you understand ^^), says it detects the drive.
Otherwise, I think there might be an application blocking the drive; is that possible? Recently, I installed Norton 360, could it be blocking a drive?
Thanks for your help.

Heu ... a formatting? Are you talking about formatting the mp3 or the PC :/ I don't think formatting the PC is a solution! First of all, I don't know how to do it ^^. Is there another way to repair Windows? (other than all this hassle ... after viruses, problems everywhere -_-").
yes yes I'm talking about PC formatting. However, formatting the mp3 might work too. Format it from another PC and even use the creative tool for that.
The problem is that once Windows is damaged, it's almost impossible to repair it without the installation CD. Besides, it's honestly not the best solution; it's better to format everything.
To only repair it (be careful, it's better to back up the important documents just in case):

Hello everyone
I bought an MP3 player, then I plugged it into my PC with 256MB RAM and loaded it with 30 songs. I disconnected my MP3 player and turned it on. It only plays 8 songs; for songs 9 to 30, it displays (folder error). I connected it back to a PC, and it shows only 13 songs. After a day, it turns on by itself without me touching the power button. Then I plugged it back into my PC, reloaded songs, disconnected it, and tried to connect it again to the same USB port, but the PC writes (device not recognized). I changed the USB port, and it connected normally, but when I disconnected and reconnected it to the same port (device not recognized). I have 7 USB ports, and I tried them all with the same problem (connected and disconnected)
Note: when I turn it on, if I touch the USB of the MP3, it turns on
Please read and help me, please, please, please

Hello.
Download and run MBAM
https://www.commentcamarche.net/telecharger/securite/14361-malwarebytes-anti-malware/
If after the scan the problem is still not resolved, you can reinstall XP over itself without losing your data by doing the following:
1) Insert the Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM drive and restart the computer.
2) Set the BIOS to boot the computer from the CD-ROM (this is generally the default setting).
To enter the BIOS, you usually need to press the Delete or F2 key at the very beginning of the PC startup.
If you see a Boot menu, select it and place the CD/DVD-ROM drive as the first option.
Otherwise, you will need to search through the different BIOS menus for the First Boot Device line and assign it to the CD/DVD-ROM drive.
Once the changes are made, don't forget to save them (usually F10).
3) At the prompt Press any key to boot from CD-ROM, hit any key on the keyboard.
The necessary installation files will begin to load.
4) Then comes the Welcome screen.
You are presented with two options: Press the ENTER key to continue the installation or the R key to repair.
Choose to continue the installation by pressing ENTER since we will reinstall Windows over itself.
5) The End User License Agreement appears. Accept it by pressing F8.
6) The program then searches for all existing Windows XP installations on your hard drive and displays them.
Your failing installation should be among them.
Select it using the up and down arrow keys, then press the R key.
7) The system files are copied to your hard drive.
8) The PC restarts.
At the prompt Press any key to boot from CD-ROM, do not touch anything and let it boot from the hard drive.
9) The installation continues.
10) The program asks you to confirm the Regional and Language Options.
11) Then, you need to enter your Windows XP product key.
12) The installation continues until the PC restarts.
13) At this point, you should have a functioning Windows while retaining your personal files.
Note: Don't forget to reactivate your XP installation with Microsoft, run a Windows Update to apply any missing security patches, and update your antivirus.
Best regards.

Everything was checked. I unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power," but it didn't change anything :/
Yes, my PC is a laptop running XP.

Is your MP3 player at least showing up in "Device Manager / Disk Drives"?
Try installing the drivers for your "Creative Zen V Plus" to see if your PC detects it afterwards. To download:

No, my mp3 doesn't show up in "device manager / disk drive". And it doesn't seem to work with my driver :/
Raaaaaaa the link....... It was working when I was logged in as a "guest" on the site :(
Check this page on the official site to download the appropriate driver:

Maybe I'm a little late.
But your computer may have lost the driver for your mp3, try this it could be
https://driverwhiz.com/pilotes-fr?brand=Creative&logo=Creative&subid=1001-e1-fr-10000004775&gclid=CIWM0ZLry6YCFdERfAodcjTrMw
and worst case, can't you use it as a USB drive?

So I had the same problem and here’s how I managed to solve it:
I unplugged all my USB ports except for the MP3 in question
I went to My Computer, right-clicked on "devices using removable storage," "properties," "device manager," "mobile device," and there you should see the device which is the USB key, right-click on it "update drivers"
There you go, after that it worked for me and I hope it works for you too
Good luck

Yes, the virus may have damaged some files. Click on "start", then "control panel", then "performance and maintenance", then "system", then "hardware", then "device manager".
At this point, you will likely see some yellow "exclamation points".
Click on the one with the yellow point, expanding the tree as much as possible. Right-click on it and choose "uninstall".
Right-click on it again and choose "install", decline the automatic installation and perform a manual installation. Check the box "specify a location" and indicate the directory c:\windows\inf
If that doesn't work, you can also try to do a "system restore" to a date prior to your problems.
If it still doesn't work, you might have to "repair windows" with the installation CD...
Your advice unlocked my mp3!!!
