Hello, I would like to change the icons of certain files or folders, but when I go to Properties>Change Icon and browse, it doesn't accept the icons I created, even though they are in .ico format (it's worth noting that I'm being asked for icon files and not just icons).
Please help me, I am (very) tired of posting topics on this forum that go unanswered!

Hello,
I’m bringing this topic back up because I had some trouble changing icons (mainly in the start menu). When I changed a folder icon, it wasn’t being taken into account.
I really wracked my brain, but I found a little solution
1. Choose the icon you want to change, right-click, select "Properties"
2. Go to the "Security" tab, and there, choose to modify the "Modify" permissions; a new panel will open
3. In this new panel, check "Allow modifications" for "Permissions for Everyone," then "OK"
4. You can now go to the "Customize" tab and change the desired icon. It will be taken into account!!
Well, I hope I was clear enough
