Hello,
I would like to connect my Freebox HD to my PC screen. I would like to know if it is possible with an HDMI cable (Freebox output) to DVI (screen input). If it's possible, how can I switch the display on the screen between the PC and the box?
Another question: is it possible to connect the box to my graphics card? I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 2900 Pro, which is VIVO... What kind of cable would I need and would I be able to get sound this way (since I don't have a digital audio input on the PC)?
Thank you for your answers.

THANK YOU everyone! It was enough to think about the RCA female sockets on the HDMI/Peritel cable from the Freebox HD, it's perfect even at 4,600 KM from the central and 73 dB of attenuation, and thanks to a PCTV Rave card I now have TV on the PC (with TF1, M6, and W9) and stereo sound on the amplifier!...THANK YOU!
Hello, I'm also looking to connect my Freebox to my LCD, but the problem is that my screen has a VGA input. From the beginning, you've been talking about HDMI to DVI, but can this work with VGA?
Hello
To connect a Freebox V5 to a PC monitor, the monitor must have a DVi-D input (sound is not necessary). Once this detail is checked, we need an HDMI to DVI cable (around €50 at Carrefour or elsewhere)
the Freebox configuration requires activating HDMI beforehand, then you can choose from the available modes (720p, etc.)
For sound, a simple Jack cable (red and white to be connected to the corresponding outputs at the back of the box). A Jack to Jack (to connect to an amplifier, for example) or Jack to RCA (like a headset to connect to a PC or other)
There you go, now you just have to enjoy it!

Thank you for your response. I have a Samsung 2232BW screen, and I believe I do have a DVI-D (to be confirmed). But there is still a problem: at the back of the box, the only audio outputs are digital; the analog inputs are on the side...
Otherwise, I haven’t tried it yet, but how should I go about activating the HDMI on the box?
Oh, and while I'm at it: how could I switch the display between the box and the PC (between the two DVI inputs, that is)?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hello,
I hope this post isn't dead, because I have the same issue as you!!
I have the HDMI-DVI cable connected to my PC screen, but it doesn't detect the signal from the Freebox.
Did you manage to configure the HDMI of your Freebox?
How did you switch your display?
Thank you very much for your reply!

Hi,
I haven't received the famous freebox yet, but planning to connect a PC monitor to watch TV, I’ve done some digging on the forums regarding the HDMI-DVI connection issue. Apparently, it’s totally possible, Free even sells the right adapters :) for connecting to the graphics card... we’ll see, I don’t know... yet :-p
Ciaooo!

Okay, I've seen the equipment you were talking about, now another question arises: how do I retrieve the audio in analog? Indeed, all the audio outputs of the Freebox are digital and I don't have a digital input on my PC. If I'm not mistaken, DVI doesn't carry audio, does it?
Same problem for me, with the new Freebox (the one without an antenna https://www.universfreebox.com/UserFiles/freeboxadsl(1).jpg, the audio outputs are solely digital (digital RCA or SPDIF). My amplifier is only analog. Before buying all the necessary cabling for the HDMI - DVI/D connection, I would like to know how to proceed.
Do you think that if we connect both the HDMI for video and the port provided for the "TV" output (a sort of S-video that is not one) to retrieve the double RCA female from the port (double RCA + Peritel http://img3.free.fr/im_adsl/kit_cable_HD.gif), it could work? In short, is it possible to use two outputs at the same time? If so, could there be a delay?
Thank you for your response.

I also have the Freebox HD V2 (via powerline): on my RGB, video, and S-VIDEO analog outputs, I have a black and white picture. Only the TV output allows me to have the analog picture in color but through SCART, which doesn't fit my LCD monitor. Rather than tinkering with an analog cable, I will also buy an HDMI to DVI/D cable.
For the sound, it's easy; just use the TV cable provided with the Freebox: it outputs the SCART for the image and especially the sound through 2 RCA connectors R/L.
I just hope that plugging the HDMI cable into the Freebox won't cut off the analog TV output; otherwise, I'll be out of luck for sound with my LCD.

I'm desperate to see my Freebox HD channels on my 19" monitor through the HDMI/DVI connector. They showed up once, then nothing.
Free support offers no help in this regard.
Any small solution?
Thank you

Hello,
if for some strange reason you were passing by to read this comment, how did you manage your hdmi/hdmi connection? (This is the only post I found for this scenario). My connection is set up, the hd box displays the correct signal, the reception of the remote control signals is indicated by the lighting of a diode, but nothing happens on the screen. There must be some setting that I don't know about...
