Convert an asx file

Hello,
I have a video in asx format that I would like to convert to wma or avi, but I'm having trouble doing it.
I tried using WinMPG Video Convert, but it says I'm missing a codec or something like that... does anyone have a solution?

    To convert an .asx file, use media-convert which is an online converter... It's free and you don't have to install anything on your computer. What more could you ask for?
    Or, you can go directly through VLC...

      Hello, I have the same problem, Media-Convert no longer exists, and nothing works through VLC, I used my MediaCoder (it has already converted asx files for me) but this time I got an error message at the end of the process!
      On other sites it is said that the asx file is just a text file, that's false...
      Thanks if you have any bright ideas for conversion, I record a lot on NASAtv and often they are asx files :(
