vnetbios.vxd should be located in the .CAB files on the Windows 98 installation CD.
Just install the 'Microsoft File and Printer Sharing' and this file should automatically install.
As for the drivers:
http://www.google.com/search?q=drivers+Cirrus+Logic+5434+PCI+Windows+98
And there you go... the first result is the right one. -
Thank you to sebsauvage. I have already retrieved the cirrus file. One good thing done.
For vnetbios.vxd, how do I retrieve it from the W98 CD and how do I install file sharing... etc.
It may be simple, but I'm struggling. Luckily, you're here. -
Without the Windows 98 installation files, it's impossible.
It's either provided in the form of a CD or as a directory on the hard drive. -
Understood, thank you for the second response. Can the Windows 98 CD be used and how? Can we extract vnetbios, put it on a floppy disk, and install it? (the CD drive is also acting up).
I'm not losing hope, and I admire your knowledge. -
Hello!
For vnetbios, go to add/remove programs, Windows components
and you need to uninstall/reinstall Remote Access
another method -> delete the remote access card in the device manager, restart the PC, you reinstall it with add new hardware. -
Thank you, jc. I'm going to move on to the application, but not right away. I'm taking small steps on the long, long path full of obstacles to restore an old thing. Fortunately, there are guardian angels, I'm thinking of sebsauvage and jc. Thank you.

I have one of my machines that has this bug.
I uninstalled remote network access but during reinstallation, the BLUE SCREEN run32.dll crashed twice in a row.
Someone else I know tried to manually copy vnetbios.vxd and now their PC won't boot anymore; only an _ is flashing.
We fixed our bug by reinstalling (there was nothing important to save except for .txt files), but if there’s another way, please let us know.
