Freebox issue: TV picture keeps freezing Solved

Question

Hello everyone, I'm new to the site ...and to the internet...!! It took me 2 hours to understand how to post a message!!!!! Anyway, I have a little problem with my TV reception under Free, some channels are "skipping". At first (since November 2007) it was all the NRJ channels and since yesterday (01/22/08) TF1 has joined in too!!!! I don't know what to do!!! Moreover, my TV reception without Free is really bad!!!! I'm desperate because I'm a big fan of Dr. House!!! I'm joking but it's really frustrating!! Thank you all for your help.Configuration: Windows XP

Good evening,

If you haven't solved your problem, try this:

If you have the Freebox V5, go to the settings of the TV module, "Display" and set it to 4/3 and the problem should disappear (normally) ;-)

Hello, I just received my Freebox HD... Installation went well, everything was fine. Then, inexplicably, the TV image became very poor and especially keeps jumping. I reset the Freebox, connected the HD box directly to the TV (initially it was connected to the VCR, which worked), the image clarity and colors came back, but it still keeps jumping. I've tried everything, reset the TV and VCR, turned off the TV, hard rebooted both the TV and Freebox, nothing works. The worst part is that everything was fine at first (for just a few hours) and with my old Freebox V4 (which I exchanged for the V5)! What should I do?

I'm the same, I have the Freebox HD and everything works fine except the TV; the picture keeps jumping. I've tried everything: unplugging and plugging it back in, rebooting, I even swapped the freeplugs. I just did what I read just now; I went to display settings and switched to 4:3 and even to the others, but the picture still jumps. I thought I read that when it jumps, it's not obvious, there was a "hard drive issue," but I also read about a VCR that I don't have... so I'm throwing in the towel and if anyone can give me some tips, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,

I received the FreeBox HD yesterday: model with the two freeplugs.

I connected a simple 19" flat PC monitor,
with an HDMI cable on the FreeBox side -> DVI on the Monitor side.

The image was constantly jumping, except in the options or on certain channels.
(image -> black screen -> flickering -> image -> black screen again ...)

In the Settings -> Display of the TV box, I set the following options:
-Output: RGB
-Format: 4/3
The image is still jumping.

Then I set the HDMI resolution to 480p60
The image no longer jumps!!!!

Probable cause of the jumps:
When one of the 3 parameters Output/Resolution/Format is in Automatic mode,
the FreeBox keeps trying to find the right setting and chooses the wrong one.
The monitor goes into sleep mode (black screen) to avoid damage.

Try setting all parameters to something other than automatic mode.
For me, there are no more image jumps or black screens.

Good evening everyone.
It turns out that I have the same problem. From a certain time (6:30 PM), a few channels on my Free TV are skipping (especially AB Moteurs). I have tried all possible settings (4:3, 16:9, auto, a reboot of the Freebox, a reboot of the TV box, a restart of the Freeplugs). All without success.

I'm in Toulouse, so there shouldn't be any issues with bandwidth (I'm in a non-restricted area).

I have a 55cm CRT TV, I'm using the S-Video output from the Free TV box and connecting it via the SCART to my TV.

A little help would be welcome

OPTION -> DISPLAY -> 4/3 mode (it was on auto)   and indeed the image flickering on the Freebox TV has disappeared for all channels  100% functional thanks for the tip

The image freezes as soon as I turn my TV back on, I have to unplug and plug it back in every time.
What do you do when you have a 16/9 LCD, putting it in 4/3 is awful, is there no other solution?

Hello everyone, I read somewhere on a forum.
I have the Freebox Revolution, and just by plugging the power plug of your Freebox into another power outlet, it works like a charm.

So, I've had it for 2 days now, and those annoying image jumps, even when trying to fiddle with the display, didn't work. I plugged it into another power outlet and bam, no more image jumps. Bye bye.

if this can help someone
since 2008 I've been with Free, and I had no sound issues until one day I had a problem due to construction work, and when it started working again, there was no sound.

So every day I unplugged the box and plugged it back in, and the sound would return for a night. I took everything apart, cleaned it, switched the HDMI cable, nothing worked
then I went into the settings of my Freebox and everything was set to auto, so I changed it to 16:9 and since then there's been no more picture or sound cutouts, proving that you need to be patient and search before calling Free.

same problem with the image jumping. I tried changing the settings (switching from auto mode to manual): nothing changed. I swapped the freeplugs, nothing changed. I changed the extension cord (still on the same outlet) and there, miracle!!!! it works perfectly like the first day!!!!!
