Hello,
I have a new LCD TV (a Samsung) and it has a built-in TNT decoder, and I also have a Toshiba DVD recorder
and I have a connection problem :d
So to keep it simple, I'd like to know how to connect everything so that it all works
I tried connecting the antenna plug first to the TV and it works, then to the DVD player and connected to the TV and that works too, but the thing is that in both cases I can't record TNT (the playback function works relatively well except that there are no menus that show on the screen when I want to play DivX or photos).
I was thinking maybe I should put a TNT decoder before the recorder, or find out if it's possible to connect a return from the TNT decoder to the recorder????
Well, if you have any ideas or advice, please don't hesitate
Thank you, I will dive back into the connections
The TV is a Samsung LE32R8 and it's a Toshiba VHS DVD recorder
Thanks

The easiest way is to buy a TNT adapter and connect it to AV 2 of the recorder, and then connect the recorder to the TV ( http://www.e-fidelite.net/comparateur-television-lcd ).

TNT recorder and DVD recorder with hard drive: all connections between devices:
SONY cathodic TV, dual tuner TNT decoder (METRONIC),
Adding a SAMSUNG DVD recorder DVD SH 877 Hard drive.
Antenna oriented for TNT (current reception OK)
Thank you for helping me connect the devices for recording programs other than the one being watched and in case of absence.

Good evening, the TNT channels in the northwest have changed, so I did a scan and now the TV works like before without any problems. However, I have a recorder with an integrated TNT decoder and when I try to record, I have a weak signal, so I can't record. Maybe my explanation isn't clear. Thank you for your help. Félix
Hello
I have a SONY BRAVIA LCD TV (with built-in digital tuner) as well as a SONY RDR-HX725 TV/DVD recorder/player (which does not have a digital tuner).
Could you advise me on which product to buy: is it cheaper to buy a whole new compatible digital recorder/player equipment directly or could you recommend an adapter or a digital decoder to purchase?
Both my TV and recorder have two SCART sockets each.
Thank you in advance for all your responses.

Hello Romain 78, I have a Sony DVD recorder that records TNT channels up to 19 broadcast in MPEG 3, which is fine. However, it can't record channels 20 to 25 because they are broadcast in MPEG 4. Starting from April 2016, all channels will be broadcast in MPEG 4, so the TNT adapters that pick up channels 20 to 25, as well as channels 01 to 19 currently in MPEG 3, will be broadcast in MPEG 4.
Therefore, my Sony DVD recorder will not be able to read or record them.
I've been trying for a week to connect my TV/DVD recorder setup
with a Metronic or Strong adapter for MPEG 4, but nothing works; the recorder cannot record (the DVD recorder set and Sony Bravia TV date back to 2009, so it's equipped with a tuner for MPEG 3 broadcasts).
The only thing that works is the TV, which, thanks to the Metronic adapter, picks up the 25 TNT channels.
As for the Sony DVD recorder, it only records channels 01 to 19 broadcast in MPEG 3.
This is what I've discovered while trying to adapt a Metronic adapter (MPEG 4; this doesn’t allow for recording with a recorder equipped with an MPEG tuner).
A long story, some might say, but that's the way it is; it will be better in 2016. Bye everyone.

The simplest thing is to buy a TNT adapter and connect it to AV 2 of the recorder, and connect the recorder to the TV.
The recording will be done on the AV 2 or EXT2 channel of the recorder (not the TV) with the TNT turned on to the channel you wish to record. If you record and change the channel (on the adapter), it will be noticeable during playback.
And if you want, for example, to record NT1 and watch BFM at the same time, you need to set your adapter to channel 11, record with your Toshiba, and make sure it is set to source AV2 or EXT2 or L2 on the front of it. Finally, take your TV remote and set it to channel 15 to watch BFM.

here is my equipment:
LG LCD with TNT
new decoder
Thomson DVD recorder..
I figured out at 3 am how to record a channel from the Neuf TV bouquet while watching TNT on my TV..
connect decoder X via HDMI or Peritel to Thomson
connect the decoder to the TV via HDMI or Peritel
connect Thomson to the TV via HDMI or Peritel
Then: connect the decoder to the wall (TV antenna) and the TNT TV too (or TNT box I guess) via coaxial (TV cable) but how!!!!! By buying a "T" that allows you to connect two receivers to your TV antenna output from the wall
This way I can record in direct auxiliary (it works with the TV off since it takes what's coming through decoder X). I'm not using the tuner on the Thomson since it only finds terrestrial channels....
Good luck.

Excuse my message, but I just came across your message from March explaining your TNT connection.
I would like to be able to record on my LG recorder the TNT while the TV (integrated TNT) is turned off.
But I don't have a decoder.
How can I record with the TV off and even watch another channel (which I think is impossible)?
If you could draw me your connection, that would be very nice.
Of course, I don't use the antenna.
Best regards.

Hello everyone
I admit I'm having trouble summarizing all the contributions to this forum.
In the end:
- with a TV with built-in DTT
- if you want to record a show:
- either the TV is off
- or while watching a different show than the one you want to record
- What type of decoder should I choose: single or dual tuner?
- What connections should I make?
Did I ask the right questions?

Hello :
I have an old generation SONY TV; a METRONIC Zapbox easy 2 dual tuner TNT decoder.
The terrestrial antenna has been oriented for TNT reception, which works very well.
I intend to buy a DVD recorder/player with a hard drive (SAMSUNG DVDSH877, with integrated TNT decoder)
My question is: will I be able to record one program while watching another, and will I be able to record a program while I'm away, and if so, what method should I use (do I need to turn on the separate TNT decoder?)
What connections do I need to make to link the various devices?
Is my question clear? Thank you for your answers.

Hello
I have the same device as you. I went to see an antenna installation specialist and explained my situation to him. He told me that it was not possible to watch one channel and record another; the tuners are for aerial antennas. When you have a satellite dish, you cannot do that kind of recording. He told me that I would need two LNBs on my dish, one for the TV and the other for the decoder.
He just arrived, and I might give you the solution later.

Here she is, if you have both reception modes no problem.
You connect the television to the antenna and the recorder to the satellite or vice versa because you cannot record and watch another channel with the new reception modes.
What the installer suggested to me, since I have poor reception with the antenna, I switched everything to satellite.
For that, he installed a dish with a LNB with two outputs, there you have two possibilities:
two decoders, one for the TV and the other for the recorder. That way you can watch one channel and record another.
The other solution is a television with a satellite input with a built-in decoder.
There you connect one cable to the TV and use the other with the external decoder to record. And to watch the recordings, you go through the SCART in AV mode connected to the TV.
Best regards.

You need a decoder and to connect it to your recorder, or a multimedia device to which you will connect your TNT recorder.
My equipment includes a Sony Bravia TV with built-in TNT and a Sony DVD Recorder RDR HX 725 without a TNT tuner.
I bought the Metronic Single 4.4 (€29, installed in a few minutes, so it’s not a big deal: you need a Scart cable and an antenna extension to connect the decoder to the recorder), with a 1-year manufacturer's warranty.
For the connections
* antenna = in decoder via personal or collective antenna cable
* decoder = recorder (long from decoder out to recorder in - if necessary, a T connector is needed for the connection to out - + Scart from the decoder VCR to the video line of the recorder)
* recorder = television (antenna cable from the out of the recorder to the in of the TV + Scart from the TV output of the recorder to a Scart at the back of the television.
Positive points:
- on my recorder, it seems to reactivate the guide + and that’s pretty cool because the EPG guide built into the TNT decoder is now the one that is taken into account
- ergonomic because very small and easily stowable (I put everything including the decoder in a simple empty shoebox.
Negative points:
- you can only record the TNT channel you are currently watching, but it seems that this is the case for all recordings without a built-in TNT tuner (the manufacturers, clever, want you to buy a built-in TNT device... that’s business).

Hello
With the built-in digital terrestrial television (DTT) on your TV, you can watch one channel and record another since the channel choices are independent. The requirement to watch the channel you're recording only applies to those who do not have built-in DTT on their TV. Your setup is therefore entirely positive

Hello,
To record DTT and watch another channel, it's very simple, you need 2 DTT tuners.
Either a TV with DTT + a single tuner DTT box (for the recorder)
Or a TV without DTT + a DTT box with a double tuner (it's not because there are 2
SCARTs that there are 2 tuners; 1 SCART is used to display the image on the TV and the other to connect to the recorder), switching with a double tuner box is done via the remote control: tuner A for the TV and tuner B for the recorder, so you need to select the channel on tuner A to watch and choose the channel on tuner B for recording).

Hello
I apologize for intruding. I would like to know if someone can help me with this problem. I bought a Sungoo
LCD TV and I connected everything, it works, but the problem is when I want to record; it doesn't show me the menu when I click on the remote control of the VCR to set it up properly with the new TV. I don’t know how to do it or where to press to be able to record. I can't find AV to watch a cassette; it's okay, I put it on SCART1 or SCART2. I connected Orange TV, and it's really frustrating, even though I have tried hard. Thank you to anyone who finds the solution for me.

Hello, I have a problem recording with my recorder, but I know how to look at the tapes. If you could help me, I would be very happy.
Thanks Loubric. Indeed, it would suit me to avoid buying new recording equipment.
That said, this shift to all-digital is frankly a trap for the fools, if I may say so. People are forced to equip themselves, and therefore spend an amount they could do without, knowing that when one channel or several don’t work or malfunction, it’s pixelated all over the place, whereas the terrestrial network still allows us to distinguish at least a small image.
But thanks for the information, Loubric!!!

Hello
you cannot record on the TV’s integrated digital terrestrial television
you need to install an external digital decoder (about €30) between the DVD and the TV.
By connecting the antenna to the DVD and linking it to the TV with a SCART cable.

Hello Cricri
It would be good to clarify your setup: what types of VCR and TV do you have? It seems normal that a VCR cannot read a DVD. What do you want to record? These answers are essential to understand your problem and help you.

Good evening
To maintain consumer society, we must constantly create new needs. Under the guise of offering better quality, we eliminate the analog, which reignites the market for decoders but, above all, for televisions. Little hope for change!

Hello,
if someone could help me...
when I record a TNT channel, I can't watch another channel... otherwise it will show on the recording.
I don't have a TV or a VCR with built-in TNT.
so I bought a TNT decoder with 2 SCART sockets. I was told that normally with 2 SCART sockets I could record and watch another channel...
I may have made the connections wrong:
- indoor antenna cable connected to the decoder
- SCART socket of the decoder connected to the VCR
- SCART socket between VCR and TV
I don't know if it's correct.
thank you

Hello
I need a decoder with a dual tuner.
I have a TV with integrated DTT + a non-DTT DVD recorder.
It works, I can record one channel and watch another.
I can also record several shows on the same channel. HOWEVER, MY PROBLEM IS THAT I CANNOT PROGRAM MY DVD RECORDER WITH HDD TO RECORD DIFFERENT SHOWS AT DIFFERENT TIMES ON DIFFERENT CHANNELS. I searched for channels with my DVD; it only shows AV1, AV2, AV3. Who has a solution? Thank you in advance.
