Hello,
I've got an external sound card "Tone Port UX1". I'd like some help connecting it... Basically, I want to record with a microphone (singing). So, I have a laptop with speakers connected to it (PC) via "SPDIF". In front of the sound card, I have the microphone connection, and behind this device, there's a USB cable connected to the computer. There are two "line inputs" remaining, another "stereo monitor in", and two more "analog outs", and I don't know what to do with them???? Can someone explain what I need to connect and what additional cables I might need? Should I leave the speakers connected where they are? I've installed the drivers, but for now, there's no sound, and the microphone doesn't work even for recording. Is my sound card already amplified? (it should be, it's of the same type as the M-audio fast track, for example). Thanks for replying quickly, I'm not knowledgeable about this!!!

Hello, I also have the Toneport UX1. It’s an external audio interface. Once it's connected to your computer, it will manage recording and playback.
The "Analog Out" outputs should be connected to a stereo system, a mixing console, or any other sound system. You can also use the headphone jack.
The "Line Input" will be used to record a keyboard, for example. "Monitor In" is for passing an audio source through the Toneport that will not be recorded.
You connect your microphone to the XLR input of the Toneport, adjust the gain, and launch "Gearbox," the software that controls the interface. On the left, select "Microphone." All that's left to do is configure the Toneport UX1 as the Master ASIO driver in your recording software.
There you go, I hope this helps you.
