HDMI/PS3 Connection Issue

I also had a little problem with my connection; I only had sound, so I went back to the basic cable and modified the display settings on the PS3 (in the menu settings => display)

Connect both cables, the regular one and the HDMI
It will ask you to choose which type of connection you want, then it will offer to change the output
It will wait for your response: go to the HDMI position on the TV, and if you have a response, then reply; otherwise, the console will revert to the initial output after 30 seconds

You can then remove the appropriate cable

I had the same problem with my PS3 that I bought three weeks ago and was working perfectly via HDMI until yesterday.

I had no image or sound, and my HDMI port was also displaying 560p.

I tried several manipulations, including resetting the console settings and connecting via the SCART, but without success...

Disheartened, I turned off the console and the TV and went to bed.

However, this morning I decided to power on the TV and console again, turning on the TV first and then starting the console.

And suddenly, the HDMI port was finally recognized by the console. I clicked OK for the HDMI connection and the image finally appeared...

I don't have a real explanation, but I think that resetting the console settings and then turning everything off, followed by powering on the TV first and then the console, might be a solution.

In any case, it worked for me.

To connect the HDMI cable, you need to turn on the PS3, connect the HDMI cable and the original cable, set the TV to AV HDMI, and then it will ask you if you want to enable the HDMI function, etc. Answer the question; there's no need to restart the console. Good luck!

To talk about my little experience, I've often had surprise black screens on my PS3, even though it was working perfectly the day before, and I couldn't understand why. Then by chance, I turned it back on and it worked. Today, surprise black screen... Big anger at first... reset the settings, switched to SCART, cable detected, switched to HDMI, and still a black screen... Just like always. Then I turned off the TV (not on standby, off or unplugged), turned it back on, and there it works. I think that's what I've done every time without knowing it, just trying...
