Hello everyone.
I have read many testimonials from people having trouble connecting their Viewty to their PC and transferring files both ways.
I spent two full days struggling before I figured it out.
So, even though the topic is a bit old, I’m going to share my method that works every time:
1/ PC: on the Windows desktop
USB Cable: unplugged at both ends
Phone: in standby
2/ Turn off the phone
3/ Plug the "phone" end of the USB cable into the phone
4/ Plug the "PC" end of the USB cable into the PC
5/ The phone then displays "please wait..." then "charging..."
6/ When the phone shows the charging battery (it’s still turned off), turn it on.
Enter the PIN code, and when it starts charging, just before it reaches the main screen, launch LG PC Suite
7/ You should normally arrive at LG PC Suite with "KU 990 ready" marked in the left corner of the application.
You should then normally be able to go to "content manager" and have fun cutting (CTRL + X)/copying (CTRL + C) and pasting (CTRL + V) files, whether from the PC to the phone or vice versa.
Don't forget to pay attention to which folder you’re pasting into.
There you go, I hope my post will have been helpful to someone.
Have a good evening! -
Hello, for me, it's the opposite that I can't do; I can't transfer images from my PC to my LG
but I know how to do it the other way around. I hope it works for you (and if you know how to do what I can't, I gladly accept explanations :) )
So, you connected to LG PC Suite (if so, I had the same issue, so I invite you to uninstall it and reinstall it; you just need to insert the little CD)
after installation, click on LG PC Suite and connect your LG (you should know that your LG needs to be on the screensaver picture (default background); let me know if you're not following me anymore :)
then do as they tell you, and you know this part too, in "content," let it load (oh yes, I almost forgot :P don't forget to plug the USB cable from the computer to your LG :) ) once it's loaded, go to the folder where your document is that you want to save on your PC, do a copy then go to the folder where you want to save your document (usually my documents/images) then do a paste.
There's a second way, go to the folder where your document waiting to be saved is, then prepare the other folder where the document will be saved (you search for it simply so you can see both folders on the left in "content" of your LG PC Suite (I hope you’re following me :'( ) then go back to where your document waiting to be saved is and drag it to the folder where it should be saved, and normally it should work; I hope it works for you! It works for me, and if you know how to transfer documents from the PC to the LG, please let me know!
I hope these explanations will be useful to you, because often I'm told I talk for nothing :S -
Re-hello, I think I may have found your problem!
You need to go into the phone settings before the manipulation, then go to connectivity, then to USB connection mode, and three types of options will appear!
. Music synchronization
. Mass storage
. Data service
To put music or other files on your LG, you need to select data service!
To make sure your phone is connected, you should see "connected" on your phone screen: "connected"
If it still doesn't work with this, you will need to uninstall your hardware and reinstall it right after deleting it. Once this is done, you will turn off (not restart) your computer and turn it back on.
[When you do this, make sure your phone and nothing else related to it is connected to your computer]
When your computer is back on, everything loaded, etc... you will connect your phone (making sure it's on the screensaver with no applications open) then you open LG PC suite and you will see in content (I hope for you this time it will work) -
Hello Elodie, I don’t know if I will be of much help (I'll tell you from memory what I know, my KU990 is currently being repaired)
so first, you need (if you haven't done it) to connect your KU990 to the computer before opening LG PC Suite, then when you hear the little sound indicating that your device is properly connected, you can open LG PC Suite.
Then when it is open, you will go where you know (in the connection assistant).
If nothing happens, you will need to go back to: Control Panel\Add or Remove Programs and uninstall LG PC Suite. Once it is uninstalled, you will restart your computer (even if it does not prompt you to) and then when it is back on, you will reinstall LG PC Suite (making sure your LG's USB is not connected) once installed, you will again restart your computer (this is to favor the driver updates).
Once installed, you will reconnect your USB cord to another USB port (if you have one, otherwise replug it where you previously connected it!) (Just so you know: when I connect my phone to my computer, I first plug my cable into the computer and then into my phone).
There you go, normally if everything is done correctly, when you connect your phone to your computer, it should appear on your taskbar: "new hardware detected" (this message will pop up several times) you will click as many times as it comes back. Then you go into LG PC Suite and follow the usual procedure, and normally (for me it works) the next time you connect your phone to your computer, LG PC Suite will connect your phone directly because it will have recognized it beforehand!
If by any chance, with these explanations it doesn’t work, or if you didn’t quite understand, don’t hesitate to let me know, I’ll look into the why and how (I’m on vacation, with a bit of nothing to do, going on vacation not yet so ...)
Take care, hoping this works! -

Hello, I found it, it's very simple: open the LG Suite software, you'll arrive on the phone folders, we don't care about that, so browse the list on the left where all the computer folders are. Go to the folder with your photos, select the photo, right-click and play it. Then right-click again and copy. Go back to the phone's image file, right-click, paste, and it works by itself; it's perfect.

I can't manage to transfer my mobile photos (ku900) to my computer. I've done everything you've told me, but my computer doesn't detect my mobile.
Please give me a solution!! -
I can't manage to transfer the photos from my LG to my PC either.
I've done everything you wrote but it doesn't work. In fact, it works until I get to LG PC Suite, then when I click on "Content", nothing happens, and it's the same for "Contacts" and "Messages". The synchronization doesn't work either. My LG is properly connected, it clearly says "KU990 is ready".
However, I can transfer photos, music, and videos from my PC to my LG, but it’s the other way around that it gets stuck.
Thanks for replying.
EDIT: Actually, I found a solution. You just need to move the files to the memory card and then connect the LG to the PC while choosing the "Mass Storage" connection mode. After that, you can simply find your files.-

After hours and hours of stress, I finally succeeded. I couldn't open my content either. My husband and I have the same phone, but he has an additional memory card. By moving photos and videos to the external memory of the phone and putting the phone in "mass storage" mode, it works; a page automatically opens when the USB cable is connected, with the files that just need to be copied and pasted to the PC's hard drive.
Of course, I had to retrieve his memory card to put it in my phone to do the same thing with my files; this solution takes a lot of time... very disappointing for a phone that is normally very advanced! Good luck to those who don't have a memory card in their phone because I tried all the solutions proposed on this blog, but nothing worked. -

I think that when you've stored quite a few photo and video files, you can no longer access the content of the phone normally. You then need to insert a micro SD card into the phone - it's tiny... they usually offer you one when they sell you the phone... there's a reason for that!
So you need to insert the card, "move" the files to the phone's external memory (it's a long process), switch to "mass storage" mode in the phone's Connectivity menu... and it works on its own. No need for LG PC Suite 2 anymore. -

Hello everyone, I found the solution to transfer photos from the phone to the PC. I created a new folder on the desktop, then opened LG PC Suite, clicked on content, clicked on images, and there you have the photos you took with your phone; on the left side is your PC and you can see your new folder that you created earlier; on the right is your phone, you just need to highlight the photos and drag them into your new folder in the left window or use copy and paste. There you go!!!
-
Try to move them to your new folder,
but it seems to me that as of today, there is no way, because the Viewty is sophisticated; it sorts all the documents by their extensions (.gif, .jpg, .wav, .mp3... etc). So, here it is, try to move them, then go to properties and see if there is an option to save and remember them in your folder!
I'm sorry for not being of more help, but it turns out that I no longer have my Viewty due to repairs :S -
Hi!
I also struggled at first, I have a technique that may not be official but it works for me! (I'm on XP)
Actually, you open the content on LG PC Suite, click on "Images," then right-click to make "Thumbnails," then right-click again to "Play" to check your photo if, like me, they are not renamed and are numbered Pklkthing.
Next, I open another folder (my documents/images/vacation for example) where I want to put them
then I drag the image to the tab (of the second file I’m talking about) "my images for example" at the bottom of the screen where it shows the page of my folders and I drop it where I want
LG Suite tells me that "the action cannot be performed because the folder is in use" or something like that, I click switch to (it opens the start menu but I don’t enter it and it works!
That's my technique after struggling for more than a month
Good luck!
*It's a shame that such an excellent phone has this kind of issue :/*-

I have a technique for transferring photos from the phone to the PC. On your mobile, go to the Photos file. Select a photo. At the bottom of the screen, there is either "the arrow" or "display" or the other one on the left, click on the latter and then select/Deselect. After that, a white box appears on your photos, you select the photos (10 max, otherwise it crashes) then click again on the same one as before (at the bottom left). You press print, pictbridge, it asks to turn on airplane mode, say yes and that's it. (It shows a connection failure but it still works). For it to work, very important, in the phone menu go to connectivity, then USB connection mode, you need to be in data service, otherwise it won't work. There you go, I hope I could help. I’m on this site because I, on the contrary, would like to put mp3 music on my phone but without success.

I struggled like you, but I managed to copy my photos by creating a new folder on the desktop and doing a copy-paste via the LG PC Suite to the new folder, and it worked. However, I can't read my videos with any other player than the one from LG PC Suite. If someone can tell me how to convert LG video format to AVI format so I can read it with a regular player like Media Player, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm replying to your message because I'm in the same mess as you. I've asked everyone, I've tried copying and pasting everything you want, I've deleted it, but I still can't get it, and no one knows how to do it. I don't understand why it should be easy, but no, I'm struggling and struggling. If you find it, let me know, thanks.

Hello,
I just bought an LG KU990 and I transferred photos and videos onto it via the external card. When I try to create new folders on the phone to organize the images and videos, I drag them to the new folder but the problem is that the document changes its storage location, moving from external memory to the phone's internal memory. Does anyone know how to organize the documents while keeping the storage location intact?
Thanks -
HELLO
I can't upload photos on my computer either; moreover, when I open LG PC Suite and click on content, nothing happens. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled it, and nothing has changed.
Thank you for your help. -
Oh thank you, it worked well, but now when I click on content to see my photos, it says "access to this memory location is not valid."
What does that mean??
Why is it doing that to you?? -
I followed your method but nothing works anymore. Even using the connection assistant, LG PC Suite no longer detects my phone...
-
Hello everyone, here it is, I have the same issue, I tried the technique but it didn't change anything, the message about the memory keeps showing up, if anyone has an idea don't hesitate to share, the worst part is that yesterday everything was working perfectly!
Thank you in advance. -
