Hello,
hi everyone. I regularly face this problem: Windows users send me files via email that I can't open (mime type), what should I do? Thanks in advance. I'm on OSX with a MacBook
Configuration: Mac OS X Safari 523.12

I downloaded open office.org then NeoOffice but the latest patch doesn't work (the page is not found) I'll try with your link. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me. I modified the codecs as indicated on the discussion page you recommended, but I'm not getting anywhere. In fact, when I double-click on the file, I always get this page: your evaluation version of Microsoft has expired. You understand, I downloaded this some time ago just to try it out and I didn't purchase the product. What should I do now?

In this case, the problem is no longer a QTime or codec issue.. :-)
What we're asking you now is to use software other than the demo version. I don't know what the software in question is, but if it's part of the Microsoft Office suite, try opening it with a free and compatible suite with MS Office.
I'm thinking of NeoOffice, which is very good here: https://www.neooffice.org/neojava/fr/index.php
Also consider downloading the French language kit and the latest patch.

If it is a software other than the MS Office suite, you need to find compatible software or buy the software..

Now I can open .doc files but not .xls ones. Do you see where the problem is?

Thank you for the effort you're putting into solving my problems, but I can't open this Excel file. I followed the steps you indicated, namely Command-I, then selecting "Neo" and "Edit All," but when I double-click on the file, the outdated version still opens. Where am I making a mistake?
