iTunes library.itl impossible to open! Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,

Since scanning with NAVILOG1 and cleaning, I am unable to open iTunes!

The message is:
Unable to read the iTunes library.itl file because it was created with a newer version of iTunes.
I tried uninstalling the current version and then reinstalling with the 2006 .exe, but nothing works!
Even repairing the installed version does not do anything!

Please HELP me!! Experts !!!!

In the directory ...\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Previous iTunes Libraries, you can find the previous versions of the library. Just rename it with the correct name and copy it to the upper directory (...\My Documents\My Music\iTunes)

Make a copy of the file before overwriting it.

Hi,

I had the same problem and the solution is simple!

You need to uninstall everything, that is to say iTunes, QuickTime, and iPod
Then in START, SEARCH you need to type these three words (iTunes, QuickTime, iPod) to delete the files that are left on the PC
After restarting the PC, you need to reinstall them using the Apple CD which will reinstall all three at the same time.

That’s how I was able to use my iTunes again, after that it’s just a matter of updating it.

Hello! Hello!

I'm already warning you, I'm totally useless with computers... but I really need help... my iTunes won't open either.

I would like to uninstall everything as mentioned earlier but I have some apprehensions... Won't there be any problems when I reinstall it??? Will I have to put all my photos and music back on??? And for the apps I've bought, am I at risk of losing them???

A big thank you to the person/people who will take the time to respond!

(P.S.: I've already checked, and it's not an issue with the read-only box being checked...)

Hello, I had the same problem with ITunes library.itl. I went to the folder (Users, Username, Music, Itunes, the folder in question, right-click and open with Itunes.app. Then it worked.
