Double-sided printing in Word

Hello,
I am preparing a report where the text should be on the front side and images/figures/photos on the back side. I would like to include all of this in the same Word file instead of creating different files for the back sides as I usually do. Therefore, the page numbering should be done every other page but continuously, and I need to be able to print double-sided.
I have been looking for this function in Word, but I can't seem to figure it out!
Does anyone have a solution?!
Thank you in advance!
Emilie

Hello Emilie,
You mention the format you don’t want (an A4 divided into two in landscape), but not the one you do want. And you don’t mention the Word version.
I assumed, in Word 3, that you want a document in A4, in portrait, normal.
You prepare your work all in sequence, the text on one page, the related images, figures, and photos on the next page normally, without inserting pages (but pay attention to the number of pages with photos that could be cumbersome to manage in Word, but we can discuss that later by splitting it in two if needed).
It’s with the page numbering that you can show that every other page is displayed. You could have two first pages with nothing on them (a cover + an announcement page) and you start your text and numbering on page 3.
1- First, go to – Layout/Page Setup/Activate headers and footers: Different odd and even pages and different first page.
2 - Then on page 3, go to Header and Footer view, insert a page number (first icon on the left).
You will have page 3 (with text), a page of photos without a number, page 5 text, and so on.
You can print everything double-sided if your printer has that option.
If not, manually, you will first print the front sides and then the back sides in two stages.
1- To print, first request the odd pages (also check the manual double-sided option, I’m not sure about that).
2- Then you will print the even pages in a second step, placing your printed pages back in the tray as they came out, and you select in the print menu, under options (at the bottom) print in reverse order.
Test this out and feel free to come back if you have any issues.
Good luck Emilie
