double-sided printing issue on MAC Solved/Closed

Hello,

I have a problem on my Mac; I want to print a PDF file on a single sheet double-sided, but the option to choose it is disabled. Please respond to help me resolve this issue. This problem occurred after reinstalling Mac.

For those who wish for a more precise explanation regarding the activation of double-sided printing on Mac (here with the Epson SX525WD printer):  You are in "Print..."  Select the "Paper Handling" menu  Check "Scale to fit paper size"  The "Destination paper size" is now editable, select "A4" (different from "suggested: A4" as displayed previously)  Select the "Printer Configuration" menu  Select "Plain Paper" for "Media" if not already done  Select the "Print Settings" menu  It is now possible to check "Double-sided printing"  Select the "Layout" menu, double-sided printing should now be activated!

This problem is likely related to your printer's driver, rather than Mac OS 10. It is not usually Mac OS 10 that manages these kinds of functions, but the printer manufacturer's driver.
Therefore, you should consult the printer's manual after ensuring that the correct driver is properly installed.

Hello

The problem is resolved on my end. I installed the driver for my printer and followed these steps: system preferences/printer/printer setup/printer model, then you choose the type of printer with the serial number.

I had the same problem with my MacBook Pro and an Epson SX 525WD, and I managed to print double-sided.

As explained earlier, you need to go to the "Print settings" menu and check "Double-sided printing." You print, and you get your double-sided page even if the double-sided option remains disabled in the "Page setup" menu.

It's strange but still possible. A relief for me since I bought this printer specifically for that function. Les numériques should perhaps report this.

I spent the morning on the same issue and I just found something that worked for me: did you check the box "Install Duplex Option" when you installed your printer? That wasn't the case on my Mac (I had to be wary of unwanted option installations), so the double-sided option was also grayed out in "disabled" mode.
If you want to be sure it's properly installed, uninstall the printer and reinstall it, making sure to check that famous box.

I just found the solution for my HP Color LaserJet CP3505dn printer

When you go to print, go to layout and normally if the printer is set up for double-sided printing, there is a duplex box. You just need to open the dropdown menu and select "long edge binding" and there you go, it prints by itself =)

I don't have the "print settings" menu either:
So to do double-sided printing, I just went to the "Double-sided print settings" menu, chose binding on the long or short side, and then clicked directly on "print" without going back to the "Page layout" menu where, indeed, the double-sided mention remains grayed out.
