Hello,

Does anyone know how to install the Apple Loops package in GarageBand?
I'm on Leopard, I installed the DVD but I can't download the loops.
I get a message: "No Apple Loops detected...
Configuration: Mac OS X iMac Leopard

I don’t have them and yet I installed the Leopard version that was in the box with my new iMac.
Whenever I want to use one, a message tells me that I don’t have them.
Where are the Jam Packs (the path) on the hard drive??

Has anyone had the same problem??
Where can I get these loops, it’s annoying, I can’t use Garage Band without the loops.

    Thanks

    Go to Finder to open the hard drive, open the Library folder, open AUDIO, drag the Apple Loops folder into the Loop Browser in GarageBand;
    That's all.

Switching recently to my iMac I had the same problem, I did the drag / drop of the Apple Loops folder, it works.

The Jams Pack are paid. Here: http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/francestore.woa/wa/RSLID?find=jam+pack

Otherwise, I don’t have Leopard, no new machine, no iLife '08, I can’t help you further.

Download the loops? They should install at the same time as GarageBand or via their .pkg if they are Jam Packs.
Other loops can be added to the library, but without keywords, by drag-and-drop.

I have the same problem, I tried dragging the Apple Loops file into the Loop Browser it reflects but nothing changes, it always tells me that I don’t have Apple Loops.
or is GarageBand supposed to search for the loops, what is the source folder?

I had a similar problem with certain GarageBand projects when upgrading to Leopard + GB 4. There is a workaround explained in GB help to restore the display of loops in the browser:

    open GB preferences, Loops tab
check Keyword navigation: filter to optimize
    press Reset
    are you sure: answer YES
then uncheck, reset, answer YES a second time

    Good luck!

Me too, I just installed Leopard and added the libraries... nothing at all. I tried various manipulations, via pre-GB, reinstall GB and moreover, in the system folders everything is there... in its place. There is a little RTF text that is missing and it’s called "index". But how to index when I’ve tried all the manipulations. Moreover, it may play some older pieces with the loops... Bizarre? If anyone has an idea... apparently, after multiple peregrinations on the web, I’m not the only one to have the problem...

Sigh, those guys who say "I found it" without the accompanying solution are so dumb...

    Please think of others...

I had Leopard on my MacBook Pro. The thing is I did some updates, so I have GB 4.1.2 to install Apple Loop by choosing with DVD. Now I'm being asked to insert the Leopard 2 install CD. I do that, then as soon as the installation starts it tells me that GB must be version 4.0 or a later version... and of course the installation stops! I don’t understand, this isn’t normal, does anyone have an idea? Thanks
