Question

I have Windows Vista Premium on an ACER laptop and I can no longer log into my session. After entering my password, a dialog box appears saying: "Failure to log in by the Group Policy Client service. Access denied." I attempted a restore and nothing works. I can access safe mode but not normal mode. If you can help me, I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Thank you all for the information! In case my experience is helpful to anyone:  I encountered the issue described a few days ago: "User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded" on Windows Vista.  I had a hard time activating "Safe Mode": neither F2 nor F8 worked for me, but I finally managed to get there by holding down the power button on the tower and then restarting. Safe Mode allowed me to run System Restore, and apparently, the problem is resolved. Upon the first restart, I had a long black screen, which made me fear another issue, but after a few minutes, it gave way to my usual wallpaper.  In my case, I feel that the problem occurred following the installation of the new version of Windows Live, particularly MSN, so I am reluctant to this latest update...  If I don't return to this site and forum, it means everything is working like it was a few days ago!

Problem solved: when you are on the session opening page, long press the power button on the tower until it turns off then turn it back on, the screen will ask you to select the opening mode, choose it with the arrow keys in safe mode and press Enter once the session is open, perform a system restore and everything will be back to normal... Good luck

Hi!  I have the same problem! I followed your advice, I'm in safe mode, I typed my password to log back in and now I have a black screen with "safe mode" written in the four corners of the screen! I don't know what to do! Please help me!  Thank you.

Hello everyone,  I was able to solve this problem by copying the following files from the Default session (user) to the profile in question: . NTUSER.DAT . ntuser  Make sure to log in with an alternative account that has administrative privileges. Another solution is to use safe mode to perform the file copies. I have the same problem on my computer from the region, it shows me the same issue when I try to log in (blocked by group policy) and for some time now my screen has been black... My computer is a Dell Vostro, who could help me??  Thank you

On Windows 7, to restore the session before the problem, access an Admin session or boot Windows in command prompt mode by pressing F8 at startup. When the black console appears, enter "Net user administrator /active:yes" to activate the default administrator session. Once the command is executed, enter "shutdown /R /T 0" to restart the PC. On the user selection screen, an administrator session should appear. Open it. In the start menu, right-click on "Computer" and click on "Properties". In the left pane, go to "System Protection". As a precaution, you can create a restore point by clicking "Create" and naming your restore point as well as copying important files to a storage device (USB flash drive, external hard drive...). Then, click on "System Restore", "Next", select a date prior to the problem, and launch the restoration. WARNING: DO NOT INTERRUPT THE RESTORATION PROCESS IN ANY WAY! Once the restoration is complete, start your PC and the problem should be resolved.  I hope this comment helps you! ;)
