Good evening,
I have a problem with my USB stick, it's a 16GB USB stick, it is write-protected (read-only), and I don't even know how this happened.
I can't do anything at all, not even copy data or delete anything from the USB stick. I have still made some attempts to remove the write protection using some utilities in Windows, but to no avail. I tried with "regedit" and I scrolled through the categories to "StorageDevicesPolicies" and I modified the value of "WriteProtect". I restarted my computer, reconnected the USB stick, but it's still the same, the stick is write-protected. Then I tried with "diskpart", the registry editor; here's what I did: "disk list/select disk x/attributes disk clear readonly". Then to verify that the write protection was indeed removed, I typed the command "attributes disk" and it says "current read-only state: yes". So these manipulations didn't work, what should I do? I have tried everything, your help would be welcome, thank you.

Best regards

    Hi,

    Install Kill Disk Suite Free

Unplug and replug the USB drive and use the Kill option

If that doesn't work, you can try again on another PC.

Thank you, but it didn’t work; it said "error: access denied."
      Is there another solution?
      Thank you.
