When I turn on my computer: Why two pages:

- 1st page: It shows the time and date.

- 2nd page, it shows the computer name and "sign in"

Is this mandatory?

Thanks, Chris

    Hello,

    After starting Windows?

You can run a check, carefully read the first and second parts and, under the PS of the first part, if it could be malware, inspect everything:

If you have any suspicious detections, we will see; post screenshots, or choose carefully what you delete.

If you’re talking about opening the hood or resuming from screen sleep, I’m also looking for how, when I return from screen sleep, or from the lid being closed on my laptop, I could land directly on the desktop as when I turn on my desktop monitor, without going through the "Sign in" step. I’ve tried a few things, to no avail.

    Hello,

What would be nicer would be to start with politeness by saying hello (a sign of education and respect)

Next, the brand, the model, the age of the computer in question... its Windows version..? or Linux

What are these two pages..? Internet browser perhaps..??

help us, that will help you by participating a little

      Hello,

The user’s forceps history (historique de l'utilisateur) seems to indicate that this is Windows 11 where it is the normal behavior of the lock screen.

It can be disabled from the Local Group Policy Editor but which only exists if forced in Windows Pro versions, or from the registry which amounts to the same in the non-graphical version but which is not very user-friendly.

If one is looking for this user-friendliness, and also for other settings, it is easier with a utility like Winaero Tweaker.

I’m fine with any negative votes you want to give, as long as they aren’t very constructive unless argued (and even then, a positive or negative vote isn’t a discussion nor an element of this discussion).

Isn’t the time shown on the first launch screen the result of the lock screen, as illustrated here with additional widgets that aren’t mandatory?

The usefulness of the lock screen has always left me puzzled, even in terms of security. There is, if you haven’t removed it yourself, a request for authentication with a password, PIN, or whatever you want, but everyone has their own choice. It is often confused with the screensaver, which has nothing to do with it and can itself require a password to resume from a session. The details of how to disable it if you wish are documented everywhere and are not disputed; I have linked to a <4> and you can find it everywhere, for example from a source that is generally not disputed either. https://www.malekal.com/comment-desactiver-ecran-de-verrouillage-de-windows-11/
