Hello everyone,

I already have a disk backup and a system backup on an external drive with AOMEI, and I would like to know if I should also create a backup (create a system image with scheduling using Windows 11) or disable the scheduling.

Hello,

It's your choice.

Fortunately, hardware crashes of a disk or that of the system partition are relatively rare; in the latter case, it can be useful to partition your disk by storing your data on a specific partition for which you make a backup on an external device: you don't always need to restore everything, including the programs.

As for the rest, my idea is more to make the same backup with the same software on two different devices rather than using two.

Hello

Yes, I think so too, but I would prefer to have another idea. When you say two different supports, that would mean I would need a second external drive, I think.

Disk partitioning is, as I pointed out, a bit more secure.

Otherwise, the answer is yes, although some prefer a Cloud solution which also has its disadvantages; one can never be sure of data confidentiality, nor of the longevity of consumer solutions which also come with a cost that needs to be taken into account.

We also often forget that if we save crap, it's what we will restore.

Archived imaging across multiple games has, of course, the drawback of the necessary space and thus tends to favor data-only backups.

This is why historically professional backups, for example via Streamer, went through even and odd date games: in the event of a crash, if the last game was corrupted, we could fall back on the previous one, of course with a 24-hour loss; nothing is perfect.
