Hello,
I found my old OLYMPUS PEARLCORDER S922 dictaphone and I would like to erase all the content on my old mini cassettes. I haven't found out how to do it... Does anyone among you have the solution?
Thank you!

Hello,
If I'm not mistaken.
It is not possible to erase what is on the tape directly from the device itself; the only option in this context is to re-record by starting the recording and ensuring there is no noise during the recording.
This is a live recording via the device's microphone in this context.
You can easily record your meetings with the Olympus Pearlcorder S922 voice recorder. It is equipped with a built-in microphone, a recording/battery indicator, a pause button, a record button, a rewind/fast forward button, a play button, a headphone jack, a voice mode switch, and a double tape speed selector.

I couldn't find the manual in French.

Note that it is advisable to re-tension the magnetic tape beforehand with a fast forward and a rewind before making a new recording.
Hello,
We are in the field of analog technology. There is no instant erase function like in computing.
You can plug a mini-jack or an unplugged cable into a device for the entire duration of the triggered recording to erase the content.
Another solution is to use a strong enough magnet, like the metal back piece of a car radio speaker or a hi-fi system (not turned on); erasure is generally guaranteed after a few seconds.
Hello MPMP10,
The idea came to me after accidentally erasing 5"1/4 floppy disks (nostalgia) and memories of precautions regarding the proximity of HP and magnetic media. But I've never tested it on my audio archives.
If necessary, tiagaline will decide to invest a few euros in some of the products listed in your link if it's a stock of tapes.
And perhaps he will be willing to share the results.
Thank you for your comment and for the information.
