Disney DVD viewing

Bonjour,
I would like to know how to read a Disney DVD on a PC?
My PC is an Acer Aspire 5102WLMi laptop, its drive is a Philips DVD RAM SDVD 8821, and it plays plenty of DVDs, but I can't seem to read Disney DVDs. Do you have any tips for reading these DVDs? I know it must be due to the protections that Disney puts on its DVDs, which makes them impossible to read. Thank you in advance!
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

It might be a codec problem
download VLC and open your DVD with it

install Power DVD on the PC.
Normally it should work without issues... once installed go directly through Power DVD, not WMP.

My sister couldn't read a Disney DVD with WMP, but it was fine with VLC.
    That's why I suggested VLC!

You're right, VLC solves quite a few issues like that.

Thank you for all your responses, it’s nice of you. However, I would like to specify that I already have the VCL software and Windows Media Player as well! However, I will try the solution that suggests downloading Power DVD; it seems to work. I will keep you updated, thanks again!!!!!

Well, this software Power DVD doesn't work either, oh well! Thanks anyway for all your answers!! Disney, in their efforts to protect their DVDs from copying, forget that they can also simply prevent us from watching their DVDs!!!!

In the workstation, right-click on your DVD / Explorer, - right-click on a file and "open with" and select VLC

or open VLC, click on File/Open Disc/ check DVD/OK

Sorry, it's not working. The DVD keeps spinning but it's not being read, and it even freezes VLC.

Throw your PC away and get a Mac; it will read everything you want with just its original DVD drive!!!!!!!
