Outlook Archiving

Hello,
I'm using Outlook 2019, my Outlook.pst file is 9 GB!
I would like to reduce its size by archiving old emails, meaning I want them to remain accessible even if they are not directly in Outlook.
If I use the "archive" function in Outlook, they are simply moved to another folder, which does not decrease the size of the Outlook.pst file.
Is it possible to move these old emails to a folder that would only be loaded on demand?

Hello,
Well no, provided that they are all useful (old attachments can take up considerable space), they need to be exported outside of Outlook to a folder of your choice and then deleted from Outlook.
The "issue" is that unless there's a dedicated utility that I don't know, emails will be exported one by one, I believe for Outlook in eml format.
Eml even outside of Outlook opens in Outlook when you click on it, but of course we won't have the readability of what the email contains beforehand, unless possibly by renaming it explicitly. -
Hello,
I had already exported messages in .pst format, Outlook places it in the same library as the other Outlook messages, they remain visible under a new Outlook folder.
In the end, instead of one large file, I have 2 smaller ones, but together they take up the same space and Outlook's loading remains slow.
If I move this copy elsewhere, Outlook is not happy: I always get an error message saying "file not found."
