Redmi Note 9S: everything works except the phone.

Hello,
My phone fell into the water yesterday and stayed there for a short time. Everything worked afterwards but in the evening, calls and texts stopped working. I was told to disable airplane mode, which is not activated. People can leave me a message on voicemail, but I don't have access to it. The texts are stuck in sending.

Hello,
If everything works except for the telephony (a pity for a phone, to begin with), maybe check the SIM card? Remove it, dry it, put it back; or even try inserting a different one. Also dry the SIM card slot. It doesn't hurt to give it a try.

Hello,
Turn it off immediately, even if it seems to be working, as water can cause a short circuit.
Do not touch the buttons and do not shake the device, as this could push the water deeper into the circuits.
Remove the SIM card, the memory card, and the case if there is one to limit the wet zones.
Effective drying: gently blot the outside with a soft cloth.
Do not use a hairdryer or radiators, as excessive heat can damage the components.
Place the phone in an airtight container with uncooked rice or better yet: silica gel packets (desiccants).
These materials absorb moisture.
The recommended duration is to let it rest for at least 24 to 48 hours before attempting to restart.
Do not put it in the freezer as this is a common misconception.
Do not plug in the charger until you are sure it is completely dry.
Do not disassemble the device if you are not experienced, as this often worsens the situation.
If it's too late, you may need to see a professional or seek other options.
You have a choice.
Have a good day.

Hello,
when it comes to received ideas or urban legends, rice is one of them because it can damage the phone even more due to plant dust.

If you can, silica is better, but all of this is often illusory because humidity can cause immediate and irreversible corrosion on a number of components, and anyway, between the theoretical absorbing power and the ability to "get" the water behind obstacles (the external elements of the phone)...Hi,
A phone should be Placed on the rice, not mixed in the rice, and on the back, not on the screen, and not in a freezer bag but in a sufficiently large airtight box, as I have experienced with old phones.
I'm just saying that this method helps to remove moisture.
But you need to give it time before reusing a phone that has gotten wet.
It's in the same logic that I took oscillococcinum and didn't get the flu.
One cannot use a heating device that raises the temperature above what the phone is designed to withstand in very hot regions, and no matter the method of drying, one cannot attract like a magnet the moisture that has infiltrated deep areas.
As for the rest, if it is not immediately irreparably damaged, the phone has the good grace to dry out and work again or not, depending indeed on how long it is allowed.
