Failed to connect to server imap.bbox.fr

Hello, I would like to sincerely thank those of you who tried to help me unsuccessfully; I have tried everything you suggested without success.
I then turned to Bouygues Telecom, they first told me they were testing my line and that they would call me back when I was near my box, then, not finding the solution, to call them back and ask for the mobile applications service... I followed everything to the letter and the person I spoke to on the phone treated me like an idiot because that service doesn’t exist with them....
My question is as follows: who manages the "connection failure server imap.bbox.fr"?
Bouygues Telecom or Thunderbird?
The IMAP port was 993 - it changed to 465 - I noted 993 again but next to it, there is a default of 465... so does it default to 465?
How do I get out of this?
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
are you talking about sending or receiving mail?
The IMAP port (actually imaps) is indeed 993, but it is only used for retrieval, not for sending.
Sending is done via smtps port 587 or submission port 465.
In any case, it's Bouygues that manages its mail server, not Thunderbird, which only handles what's happening on your PC regarding emails.
Have you tried using the webmail in your client area?
And there you go, voilà ....
But misery, those line spaces are so annoying!!
thank you very much brupala
that's exactly what I think but Bouygues can't seem to address my issue despite 3 phone calls to their services...
I asked for a callback from a manager... but probably not before Tuesday given the July 14th weekend...
yes, I tried going through the client area and Google Chrome, it worked
I would like to change Thunderbird for something else, what do you recommend?
have a good weekend

Honestly, I haven't used Thunderbird or any email client in years; I only use webmail from providers and that's fine for me. I only installed Thunderbird recently to clear out my 20 years' worth of emails stored in Gmail, because it allows for fetching via POP and therefore emptying.
Have you tried resetting the POP port to 993?
There's no reason for Thunderbird to make such a blatant error; you're not confusing it with SMTP sending, are you?
You haven't replied about the Bouygues webmail?
Hello,
I have exactly the same issue. I was with Free before, switched to Bouygues with a 5G Box (my roommate no longer wants to share his box). I receive all my emails, but it's impossible to send any email from my computer despite having the correct SMTP configuration. Bouygues' expert service was supposed to call me back yesterday, but I'm still waiting... I even uninstalled and reinstalled my work email on Thunderbird, but it didn't change anything.
No sending is possible (I receive all my emails, whether they are from my Hotmail or my work email), I can no longer send emails.
Is the problem coming from Bouygues?
Hello,
If you're sending via Thunderbird, which email provider are you using, Free or Bouygues or another one?
Are you getting any error messages after sending?
Mobile network internet isn't really internet.
Try using a VPN, for example this one
