Black window that opened and closed immediately

Hello,

I was just quietly on my PC when a small window with a black background opened by itself and disappeared automatically after one or two seconds max.
I didn't have time to see anything, just that it was about C and Program Files I believe, and I also think the window was empty but I'm not sure anymore.

In doubt, I ran FRST, because I'm surprised by this micro appearance. The PC has been on for several hours and apparently, there are no background updates (usually the PC makes a bit of noise when that happens).

Thanks in advance if someone can enlighten me.

Hello @Sakura_01 StatusMember.

Still no infection on your PC.

Too many extensions in Firefox, some of which are duplicates, do a bit of cleaning up.

Thanks, phew :)

What about extensions like Adblock Plus and the others? If I only keep one, I don't feel like it blocks all the ads well, or should I delete this one and keep AdGuard Adblocker and uBlock Origin?

I can remove HTTPS Everywhere without any problem.

As for extensions, it's up to you; a browser with too many extensions is often slowed down, that's why I mentioned that. It's for you to decide which ones you don't need. Your PC is not infected, and that's all that matters.

I haven't noticed any slowdown, let's hope it lasts.
It's good that there's nothing, we thought about that (virus) because often a change of this type with memory and PC noise can be due to that (but since I haven't done anything specific...) and when I go into Task Manager, the Antimalware Service Executable is in Very High mode in red, it runs quite a bit when the PC makes its noise (but no slowdown noted either on the Internet or in using the PC).

In searching for what it is, a lot of info points toward the risk of viruses/malware. I don't have any other antivirus installed, and other info tends toward something corrupted in WinDefender or an analysis that is too resource-intensive.

Thank you very much once again :) have a good evening.

Thank you very much :) !

What could that be coming from then? A sort of update that didn't go well after all?

It is very common and can come from different sources such as software or a driver, there is no infection on your PC, you can use it without any problem.

Okay no problem thanks. Can I delete FRST and everything that goes with it?

@Sakura_01 StatusMember .

Uninstall FRST, rename the FRST file you downloaded to uninstall, then once the file is renamed, open it; the uninstallation will proceed automatically via a restart of the PC.

Hello. Here I am again already. I hope that by seeing the topic brought up you'll stop by :)

We'll see if it's related to the C drive that's struggling (checking little by little) or if unfortunately it's something else.
I've lost a huge amount of space for no real reason on the C drive of the PC between yesterday and today, but it's not lagging.
Just by letting FRST analyze the PC, without doing anything else, I gained almost 21 GB on the C drive. No infections to report still please?
Outside of the forum, I was suggested that the presence of a virus might be causing the PC to behave this way.

Thank you in advance if you stop by.
