Garmin 55 and Redmi A5

Hello everyone,
My daughter has had a mobile phone for a few days.
Before, she received a Forerunner 55 watch as a gift.
This evening, I am trying to connect the two via Bluetooth. But it doesn't work.
I read that you need the Garmin Connect app, but I can't download it (see the photo).
My daughter has training days that she would like to record.
Any help is appreciated in advance,
Have a good day,
Sophie

Hello,
The message is quite clear in the notification, the phone in question is not compatible with the latest version!

Thank you for your responses and your respective help.
@MPMP10 StatutMembre I will look into an older version.
@brucine
StatutMembre um no, I won't take on that responsibility ... lol
but what I don't understand is how she manages to use Google Play and download apps ...
The phone indeed has a lightweight version of Android called Android GO, which is incompatible with Garmin Connect, across all versions.

So it's a no-go unless you attempt the risky manipulations I've mentioned (which I do not recommend unless you're a specialist in the matter, and even then) or change your phone.
Not nitchevo (nor cars).
There was a fallacy in <1> concluding that it was the version number of Garmin Connect that was incompatible when in the case we are interested in, it is the Android version itself (GO) regardless of its number.
By the way, the story of app versions is rather the other way around; we have, I’m just making this up, an Android 8 phone and the version currently available in the Play Store is only compatible starting from Android 9: you often find an older version on APK mirrors that is compatible with Android 8, provided that the target site still supports it (this is not the case for some banking apps, for example).
Here, Garmin Connect, it’s been around since my grandmother's time, it is compatible with all Android versions from Android 7 to Android 15 (the current case)... except when it comes to Android GO versions where none are compatible.
Hello,
The question is not related to the Garmin Connect version, which is compatible with Android at least 7, so practically with all phones on that front.
In general, the problem could stem from the fact that the phone was purchased with a Chinese ROM, and therefore Google and the Play Store are not natively available; in this case, the solution, although not very simple to implement, would be to flash and replace the Redmi ROM with a so-called global Redmi ROM.
But in this case, it's not even worth trying, Garmin Connect, whatever the version, is not compatible with the lightweight Android GO version that the phone is equipped with. There is no solution except at your own risk (the risk of making the phone unusable in case of a wrong version or a bad operation) to replace Android GO with a third-party ROM like TWRP or Lineage, and if necessary, do a search like "xda redmi a5 root".
