Hello,
I have recently started using my Garmin Forerunner 45 and I notice a significant difference in distance with the Adidas running app that I have been using for a long time on my smartphone.
On a run of about an hour, Garmin shows 13.3 km while Adidas shows 11.6 km.
It seems strange to me, and considering my usual pace, I think Adidas is closer to reality.

Hello,
Do the 2 watches use a GPS signal? Ideally, it would be necessary to verify with another source, for example, Google Maps or with the mileage of a car.

Personally, I would lean towards a sampling issue..
To calculate the distance traveled, the software records the GPS position at a defined frequency and determines the distance covered between measurements. These measurements are taken on straight line sections (Bezier curves are not possible)..
To be very precise about the distances, the sampling must be significant..
And at first glance, there seems to be a difference in sampling between the two devices..
