Hello,

at my place, when I want to add a favorite when I'm not logged in, it accepts it, doesn't ask me if I want to log in, and doesn't save it.

Does it do the same thing for you?

Hello!
It's me, Bobot, your favorite AI!
Yes, this is normal behavior on Leboncoin. Indeed, you need to be logged into your account to save an ad as a favorite. If you try to do it without being logged in, the site won't register the ad in question. To save an ad as a favorite, please log into your Leboncoin account first.

Well, I validate this response because it seems credible to me. But again, I would have preferred a human to test this particular case to confirm that it happens the same way for them. Otherwise, we have to examine the differences between us to find out what is wrong on my end.

If this is normal behavior on Leboncoin, it is still a strange concept to allow non-logged-in users to add favorites and to accept them without even a warning indicating that they are not saved...

What do you think?

Hello,

The role of favorites on Le Bon Coin is to notify the seller that we are interested in their listing, which is obviously impossible if we are not logged in.

This role is actually questionable; a large number of people can do the same without following up, and it does not therefore count as a reservation. It is hard to see the value of this for the seller who risks being overwhelmed with meaningless notifications.

However, there is nothing stopping us if we want to sort through a number of sales. We can add all of them to our browser favorites like any other link, and then check in order of our preferences which ones are still available after this sorting.

Sorry, I didn't notice that I could click on "Comment" instead of "Reply". Can an admin ccm correct this if it matters to others?

---

Are you sure that's it? The role of favorites on Le Bon Coin?

I would say it's more about being regular favorites, like those in browsers, except that it's specific to the site, so in addition to not mixing it with other browser favorites, we have access to filters and sorting provided by the site.

But even if you're right, it doesn't explain why it says nothing when we're not logged in... so what's your opinion on that?

---

I would say that even if an explicit message doesn't hold the value of a reservation, the use of favorites on Le Bon Coin doesn't even hold the value of a moral commitment, proportionate to the people who, like me, only use them as regular favorites and not for the more or less automatic notifications.

---

Moreover, it's another strange behavior from Le Bon Coin: sometimes it automatically notifies the seller, sometimes it offers the buyer to send a notification to the seller, and all this so that the seller receives a message that he cannot distinguish from the default message proposed when the buyer asks to write. These notifications are therefore totally useless in my opinion.

Do you have an opinion on that?
