Hello @archijul StatusMember.

There is indeed a proxy configured on your PC; if you did not set it up and wish to remove it, please follow the instructions below.

Procedure to follow in the order indicated:

1- Open FRST as an administrator by right-clicking on FRST and selecting run as administrator
2 - Copy the entire script in the box below:

Start:: CreateRestorePoint: CloseProcesses: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox: Restriction HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google: Restriction Task: {C8EE7BFB-E068-4720-AA4B-046E243E567F} - System32\Tasks\Lenovo\Vantage\Schedule\LenovoBoostAddin.Prompt => C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\VantageService\4.0.52.0\ScheduleEventAction.exe LenovoBoostAddin.Prompt (File not found) Task: {5D59A624-8A3B-414A-AFD3-7C86DEF1CA77} - System32\Tasks\Lenovo\Vantage\Schedule\NotificationCenter => C:\Program Files (x86)\Lenovo\VantageService\3.13.72.0\ScheduleEventAction.exe NotificationCenter (File not found) Task: {E0F10DCF-44AD-40E8-9370-FB5DA59F93FB} - System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows\UpdateOrchestrator\USO_UxBroker => %systemroot%\system32\MusNotification.exe (File not found) FF Notifications: Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\nbk3ypsr.default-release -> hxxps://web.humanverification.co.in U1 aswbdisk; no ImagePath CustomCLSID: HKU\S-1-5-21-3718390807-3387156246-1943638311-1001_Classes\CLSID\{82A6D7A6-FC2E-4DFD-AAEF-E3BBF9AD71AD}\localserver32 -> "C:\Program Files\CEWE\CEWE creation software\AutoBookService.exe" -ToastActivated => File not found AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\avc-free.exe:BDU [0] AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\CPW_7_4_2_8_ORANGE.exe:BDU [0] AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\dvdfab13_online_13033.exe:BDU [0] AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\FreemakeVideoConverterSetup_58d78ac8-438d-3058-3762-d5da553e0c23.exe:BDU [0] AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\FRST.exe:BDU [0] AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\FRST64.exe:BDU [0] AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\MBSetup.exe:BDU [0] AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\pdf24-creator-11.22.0-x64.exe:BDU [0] AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\vlc-3.0.21-win64.exe:BDU [0] AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\WhatsApp Installer(1).exe:BDU [0] AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\winx-dvd-ripper.exe:BDU [0] AlternateDataStreams: C:\Users\33677\Downloads\XoolooDigitalCoach.exe:BDU [0] RemoveProxy: EmptyTemp: End::

3- Once the script is copied, click on Fix, FRST will automatically take the script from the clipboard.

Let the fix process complete; once finished, you will be prompted to restart your PC. Please do so as soon as prompted, see below.

Then once your computer is restarted:
4- You will have a Fixlog file on your desktop; then send this fixlog report to https://www.cjoint.com/ or https://pjjoint.malekal.com/ .

Then provide the generated link from https://www.cjoint.com/ or https://pjjoint.malekal.com/ in your response.

5- Repair Firefox see this page.

6- CHECK AND LET ME KNOW IF YOUR PROBLEM STILL EXISTS.

For your information:

Your version of Windows 11 is not up to date; go to Windows Update, version 24H2 should be offered to you.

@archijul StatusMember .

The fixlog is OK, is the problem still present?

Hello,

The problem is still there and even more significant. After fixing Firefox as you mentioned in your previous message, I can no longer display any pages on the browser; it indicates a proxy issue... I can try again tonight after work.

@archijul StatusMember .

Since you did not set up this proxy, apart from the proxy there was no infection on your PC, the proxy that was present on your PC has been successfully removed by FRST.

There was a proxy configured in Firefox, apparently the Firefox repair did not disable it, disable it manually by selecting no proxy see this page.

If that does not change anything, check and let me know if it’s the same with Edge?

If it’s still the same, do a new FRST scan and provide the report links.

I have successfully removed it in Firefox and it's working again, thank you very much. However, when I want to launch apps like Spotify, Steam or others, it still tells me that I'm not connected to the Internet.

When I check the computer settings, the proxy automatically reactivates even when I deselect it.

@archijul StatusMember .

Do a new FRST analysis.

You haven't answered my question about Edge.

by checking the computer's settings

Which settings?

For your applications, you need to go into their network settings and uncheck the proxy box like you did for Firefox.

Indeed, it wasn't working on Edge either, but everything is working now. I uninstalled some applications, including the Orange security suite provided with my Fiber subscription, and everything is fine. Could the problem have come from that?

Thank you anyway for your valuable help.

@archijul StatusMember

The proxy was not installed by the security suite, which apparently did not fully disinfect the PC and therefore left the proxy that I removed with FRST; this is the problem with antivirus software that removes the infectious process without considering the collateral damage.

Windows 11 already has its own built-in antivirus, free and effective; there's no need to add anything. Don't forget to update Windows 11 to version 24h2 via Windows Update.

Uninstall FRST, rename the FRST file you downloaded to uninstall, then once the file is renamed, open it; the uninstallation will happen automatically through a restart of the PC.

Hello,

The proxy was set up on the Windows Internal network -> 127.0.0.1

What legitimate program could do that without malware?

It is possible when an antivirus disinfects the PC by removing the infectious process but without touching the proxy; in summary, it removes the malware but does not repair the damage that the malware has caused, because in the FRST report, I saw nothing outside of the proxy that must have actually been created by an infectious process.

For your information:

The PC is protected by Orange/Bidefender protection.

I did think about it, it's probably the antivirus that is to blame (if the proxy reactivates).

I will ask the Orange service or uninstall the Orange antivirus by Bitdefender.

But let's wait to see FRST logs if needed or if it can help further.
