Hello,
Very likely, while downloading a trivial application, "EpiStart" was installed on my PC running Windows 11 Home, on a 64-bit operating system.

While it doesn't seem "aggressive," it is invasive and interferes with my use of the PC.
What means can I use to get rid of it, please?

Thank you in advance

    Hello "brucine",

And thank you for your response that clears my doubt about this potential "Trojan horse."
Obviously, nothing is "trivial" as I may have suggested in my question message, but since it doesn't appear "aggressive" to me, I used this inappropriate term.

I will try the "Altruistic" manipulation which seems effective.

    Sincerely

    Hello.

    Download FRST .

Once downloaded, save FRST to the desktop then right-click on FRST and select Run as administrator which will show this:

Wait for the message the tool is ready to use to appear then click on Scan

Warning, wait for the messages saying that the scan is complete to appear.

At the end of the scan, the two reports FRST and Addition will be on the desktop.

Send the FRST and ADDITION reports to cjoint.com or pixeldrain.com .

Then attach the two links generated by cjoint.com or pixeldrain.com in your message.

    Hello,

    And double thanks to "bazfile";

    1) for having placed this question in the right place that I couldn't find.
    2) for the solution to this issue that I was able to fix according to "brucine"'s advice. Apparently, it worked.
However, I'll keep your workaround handy just in case...
Anyway, thanks to all of you who are listening to us, "poor ignorant ones"...

      It was just adware.

To avoid this kind of problem, you have to be careful when installing free software; during installation, you should read the various screens carefully to avoid getting trapped.
You must uncheck the proposed boxes; they are not always visible at first glance. For example:
