I have an ALCATEL f860 phone.

Since I connected to fiber, I can no longer check my messages on my voicemail - 3103 -

Do you receive them by email and can you read them on the client area?

If that's the case, check with Orange; they must have messed up the phone portal.

I called Orange right away, and I was recommended to press an application (or button) on my landline, but I do not have that on the model I own.

I'll repeat, it’s since I switched to fiber, before that there was no issue.

Do you receive the messages by email?

I always activate email messages on my account (Orange or elsewhere).

If you have them on the portal, you should have them by email, if you have configured an email address in your messaging account.

How is the "Visual notification of messages" set to "Yes" or "No"?


It's very hard to catch a black cat in a dark room.

To do this, unplug the Livebox, wait a good minute, then turn it back on.

If that doesn't change anything, then as brupala points out, you need to contact Orange.

You mentioned that he suggested pressing a button that doesn't exist on your Alcatel F860, do you remember which button it was? Because besides the M1 and M2 buttons (memory for 2 numbers), the other buttons are the ones found on all fixed phone handsets.

I cut off the power and then restarted my livebox, and in the end it's still the same. As for the button suggested by the technical support of Orange, I don't remember it.

When you say that 3103 isn't working...

Are you dialing 3103 correctly or are you just pressing the 1 key which, on some models, is programmed to directly call 3103 (I don't know if your model is one of those)?

After dialing 3103, I still hear the same message asking me to record my greeting, which I already did from the start (I called from my mobile yesterday to test it).

Normally, when dialing 3103 if you don't have any recorded messages, you will hear the following announcement:

  • A tune
  • Hello, you have no new messages
  • Main menu
  • For your welcome messages, press 2
  • To manage your secret code, press 3
  • Or for more information, press 0

The message you leave using your mobile, if you go to the Orange portal, can you listen to it without any problem?

Another question, is your Alcatel F860 indeed a device without a built-in answering machine (one button on the base)?

I noted that you have had this phone for years and that the issue started when the fiber box arrived, but that doesn't tell me:

  • If it is a phone with an integrated answering machine (display + multiple buttons on the base) or not (a single button on the base)
  • If when you leave a message via your mobile you can listen to it by going through the Orange portal or if there is just a notification of a missed call.

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it's not there...
