Hello, since I switched from my VDSL Red box to a Bouygues fiber box, I can no longer communicate with my home automation controller IPX800 V3.
In the device menu of my box, I see all my network devices, whether via Wi-Fi or wired, but I do not see my controller.
I downloaded an IP scan tool which also does not detect it, even though the RJ45 socket is blinking correctly.
From what I understand, Bouygues IP addresses are of the form 192.168.1.XXX, and in my box's error messages, it states that my device has an IP address of 192.168.100.252, which is not on the correct subnet and thus the device does not work with my box.
My controller is visible in the error messages but is not seen on the network.
Do you know how I could fix this? Should I assign it a new IP address? Unfortunately, even that I don't know how to do. I found a tutorial for making this change, but Windows tells me there's an error.
I am a beginner in IT and I don't know what to do other than throw away my home automation setup or box ;-)
If someone could help me, I would be very grateful.
Thank you in advance.
Geoffrey

Hello,
If the device has a fixed IP address of 192.168.100.252, you need to connect to it to change that address. So check its documentation for the steps to follow.
If the operation needs to be performed from a PC, you should assign a fixed address in the same subnet to the PC, which should be connected via a wired connection. And test it connected to the local network, or with a direct cable between the PC and the device.
Also check the documentation to see if there is a reset/reinitialization procedure for the device that will give it an automatic IP address. Look into how the initial installation of the device is done, ...

The documentation chapter IPX800 V3 Detection indicates to use the utility of the device downloaded above and to use a crossover cable to connect the PC to the device. In the absence of a crossover cable, use a regular cable (straight cable) as the PC can most of the time handle the conversion. The connection between the two devices should also work if they are both connected to the router.

Hello,
if there is no mobile home automation app that normally allows this kind of installation,
we have to do it the old-fashioned way:
configure a PC, tablet or mobile with a STATIC IP address on the network currently assigned to the thing, for example 192.168.100.100 to reconfigure it, depending on its interface either in dhcp or with an unused address to choose from the router's network (192.168.1.0/24)
It's surprising that this kind of product is not on dhcp (automatic ip) by default.
And there you go, there you have it ....
But goodness, those line spacings are so annoying!!
