Hello,
On my private network at home in a small village, my 5 private PCs appear, each with a name ending with the model, which makes it easy for me to see which private PC is turned on.
However, my concern is that from time to time I see the same PC with a name that I do not recognize at all, bearing the name below:
cvt_mt5886_eu_1g
Note 1 : If I log into my myswsisscom account and view the network topology, I see the router + a repeater + the 5 PCs, but not at all the PC cvt_mt5886_eu_1g
I then typed the name of this PC in IE, but here’s what I found and I don’t understand this internet info at all!
Do you have any ideas about what this PC cvt_mt5886_eu_1g is?
Is it an intruder? Or am I hoping that it’s nothing . . .

Hello,
You mentioned that it wasn't Swisscom showing you this name, and you didn't say the most important part:
- Where do you occasionally see this name (cvt_mt5886_eu_1g)?
- What software is showing you this?
- Why do you think it's the name of a PC?
- What other information is shown, besides the name?
Hello HelpIOS,
First of all, thank you for your responses, and for your information, we do not have a Smart TV or Android TV box, as the family choice is no TV since 2013.
- Our subscription with Swisscom is only for internet access + email addresses + our home private phone number.
- From time to time, I can see the family mobile phones named Nokia + the first 2 letters of the first name and last name.
All the names of the PCs and mobile phones are written in their configurations and in the Swisscom router, meaning they are the same everywhere . . .
. . . there is no PC or mobile phone with the name: cvt_mt5886_eu_1g
Hello,
and yet this hardware name seems familiar as an Android TV motherboard:
source here (search duck duck go if google doesn't find anything for you)
Also (link at the bottom of the previous page).
Edit, actually yes, those pages were indeed found on the Google search link you provided, so you already had the answer.
It's still an encoding corresponding to an Android device, whatever it may be (smartphone, tablet, TV, and even a fridge...yes, really).
It's up to you to investigate, especially among visitors, who might have had access to your connection.
