Hello, I woke up this morning and vertical lines had appeared on my computer screen.

I had left the computer on all night, and it was plugged in as well.

But it's also possible that I "slammed" it too hard when I closed it last night.

I don't really know, those are the two ideas that come to mind.

What can I do about it please?

If turning off the computer and turning it back on shows the same lines in exactly the same place, there is a good chance that your screen is damaged, especially with a touchscreen.
Consider replacing the panel...

It's not a touchscreen, but indeed the marks are in the same place even after a restart.

We can even slightly discern them when the computer is off...

Leaving it on all night has no impact on the functioning of the PC or the screen.
