Split screen (vertical) with contrast difference

Hello,
I have searched through the various topics discussing a screen problem, but no one has resolved this issue... So here it is, I have an HP Pavilion 500 PC Series tower and an LG FLATRON screen, and for some time now, when I turn on my computer, even on the welcome screen, the screen is divided in two vertically by a line right in the middle, with a darker contrast on the right than on the left. I'm not very skilled in computer matters, so I don’t really know where the problem is coming from. Is the problem due to a misconfiguration or the screen itself?

    Hello. Have you looked at the settings on your screen? By finding the icon for your screen, you can access several ways to display it.

      Thank you! Indeed, the settings were not right and by resetting to default, the line disappeared! Thank you very much for your help.
