TCL 43C725 AV Port Issues

Hello,

I own a TCL 43C725 television that I recently purchased and I'm already having an issue with it.
Indeed, this television has an "AV adapter" port (where you plug in this type of cable, see attached photo) and no matter what cable I try (I've tried several) and regardless of the device (PS2, WII, Xbox or PSP), there's no signal..

On this support site, I hope someone can explain to me that there's a specific setting I need to adjust in the video settings of my TV, or tell me that I need to update the internal firmware of the TV (perhaps the firmware is corrupted).

Thank you for your help.

No other idea, I don't know if a video RCA to 3.5mm jack adapter is truly universal.

You should rather look at the connection on the HDMI ports.

Hello,

The principle is, you connect the jack plug to the TV, with 3 RCA cables yellow/white/red you connect them to your device, on the TV you select the AV source from the list of connected devices.

Hello,

Upon taking a multimeter, we notice that the ground (of the TV antenna) corresponds to the center of the red audio RCA... so no inversion will solve anything!!! Thanks to the TV manufacturer for not being compatible with the standard... finally by "butchering the cable," ring 3 = ground (and not ring 4) and thus ring 4 = video (and not common = ground) and well, it works on my TCL.

Was this adapter included with the TV or did you buy it separately?

Hello,

I can't find the model 43C725 at TCL but rather models from the C725 series (50" - 55" - 65" - 75")

And in the product sheet, it states: CVBS optional

The product sheet: https://support-downloads.tcl.com/file/Manual/Product+Sheets/01BTMKY5Y4TVW3REKGXRCYUBBREOC66USG/75c725_product-sheets_French.pdf

It would be good to ask TCL because if it's an option... obviously it can't work.

Edit: the sheet for the 43C725 says the same thing. See the sheet at the bottom of the page https://www.ubaldi.com/tv/televiseur-lcd/tcl/tv-qled-4k-108-cm-tcl--tv-qled-tcl-43c725-4k-uhd-smart-android-tv--50884620.php

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
Especially when it isn't there...

Hello, you need to swap the yellow video with one of the two audio cables, red or white; the TCL isn't universal with some adapters, but it works.

I connected a NES to it, I struggled a bit, then I found this solution, everything works.

Thank you for the response,

I'm at this point and despite that, even though my WII is turned on and connected to the AV port, still no signal while being on the AV source :-/

Hello,

Is the jack plug fully inserted?

I have the same problem

Hello Baladur, yes the jack is fully inserted.

And no Jeepee, the cables I tested were not with the TV.

I found one among my old cables, that one didn't work, so I ordered one on Amazon (from the brand TCL) that didn't work either.

The HDMI ports are working well (TV decoders and more recent consoles connected).

I'm wondering if I need to choose a specific adapter, as I'm surprised that these cables wouldn't be universal.

Or if the port might be defective (unlikely given that it's a recent purchase)..

But I also want to point out that regardless of the condition (device connected to the AV port or not), the AV port always appears as "connected" from the source manager, so it seems occupied (see attached).

Thank you, if others have solutions I’m all ears :)

Anyone?

Hello Baladur, thank you for this information!

Optional CVBS means that manufacturers do not guarantee the proper functioning of the AV port? If so, what’s the point of including it on the TV?

Otherwise, I will indeed contact TCL to find out more.

This means it's an option.

This option is not installed by default on all televisions of this model.

It seems they are putting in the female jack (to plug a hole) but not necessarily the circuit that should process the signal behind it. To be confirmed by TCL.

Fallback solution: Acquire an AV to HDMI converter

Hello,

I haven't been able to find a link/email to contact TCL..

Indeed, using an HDMI to RCA adapter is one solution, but it doesn't solve the initial problem.

I would like to get confirmation from a TCL professional, how can I do that? Are there any email forms available?
Are we required to make a premium phone call?

Thank you, I'll write to them, keep you informed and update the status of this topic after their reply.

edit: the link you gave me, Baladur, only concerns mobile devices? In any case, I cannot select the televisions.

Sorry... please excuse this misdirection.

In principle, you can reach them by phone (non-premium number) via Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp.
