Hello,

The phone I bought has a manufacturer's overlay.

Where can I download the official Google Android without any manufacturer's overlay, please?

Thank you,

Always broke

    Hello,

It is impossible to answer this question without the exact model of the phone (and sometimes even with it).

In principle, the manipulation consists of rooting the device and finding and installing the corresponding stock ROM if it exists, all at your own risk. Here is an old illustration of the process:

      OK thanks,

I'll take a look. I bought a €30 phone on AliExpress to replace my SONY phone that was 8-10 years old. The problem is that I have a bunch of junk apps and I'm not sure about the authenticity of the firmware. Basically, I don't know if there are any Chinese spy software on it (given the price, I wouldn't be surprised).

I couldn't find an "official Google only" version ...

Do you know where to find that?

A bit like MacOS X which is included on DVD when purchasing a Mac (or downloadable from the App Store) please?

        Hi

It's not a one-size-fits-all software; for each model, there are adaptations to the hardware and choices made by the manufacturer regarding the features. Google works with manufacturers, but it's them who distribute for each of their devices.

So what you can find isn't ready-made but adaptations that someone made at some point and then put online. If you're not familiar with it, it's not any more secure than the original, plus there are probably recurring bugs or functions that don't work.
