Printers viewed offline in Windows 11

Hello

ALL my wifi printers are showing offline on ALL the PCs (Windows 11) in the house for the past few days.

On the printer side, they are properly connected, and we can print from the phones... so they are visible to the router and via wifi.

I have tried everything: restarting the PCs, the printers, and the wifi router. Nothing works.

Does anyone have any idea?

Thank you in advance

Hello,

All these things don't happen by chance..!! There's a reason that needs to be found.. Probably a common reason...

-- Is this Windows 11 new..? Or on the contrary, was it working fine for years..?

-- A change of BOX..??

-- Printing from phones doesn't take the same route as that from PCs running Windows... So this connection isn't a certainty..

-- "ALL the PCs (Windows 11) in the house" .. Should we understand that there are other PCs in the house that are not running Windows 11 and are functioning normally..??

-- The brands and models of the printers and computers involved would be good references to provide assistance and think about a diagnosis..

The same goes for the BOX... brand and model and "Switch" or Router or Repeater online, if that's the case..?

A disconnected repeater can cause this type of trouble.

With all this information, it will be easier to get an idea.

Hello,
Thank you for your response.

I had replied to your comments, but the message apparently didn't go through, my apologies for the delay...
- Windows 11 is two months old and everything was working until a few days ago

- No change of BOX, it’s a Movistar box, I live in Spain, it has been here for several years

- All printers are visible via WhatsApp on phones, via Wi-Fi, through the network utility on the PC over Wi-Fi, with an IP address. The HP printer is recognized as connected by the HP utility

- Three PCs in the house running Windows 11, all have the same problem recently

- HP LaserJet M454dw and EPSON XP 405 printers

- Movistar Mediatek MT902 BOX

- The problem occurs with or without a repeater

- The printer is visible to my PC when I connect via Ethernet cable to the box

The problem definitely comes from our Windows 11 not seeing the printers over Wi-Fi.

There you go

PS: I don't know how to report an issue to Microsoft, I'm being sent from FAQ to FAQ, can someone tell me what to do?

Hello, try a system restore to a date before the failure.

Yes, it just takes an update, Windows 11 does not recognize the manufacturer of your WiFi, it removes the driver and refuses printers and that's how you end up... without seeing anything new...

Microsoft won't look for a solution for printing... It only takes care of Windows.

Here’s a guide I already made here:

Understand well that your home WiFi comes from the computer. ===> Internet box ==> printer to pass the document to be printed...

So you properly install your printer on the PC... and when establishing the WiFi connection you've chosen, you go to the BOX... Press the WPS button for 5 seconds, a light blinks... you return to your ongoing installation and confirm, the connection should be established, if you're not too far away... but wait a little, a good handful of seconds.

You have 5 or 10 minutes to complete this pairing, after that, it's too late, you will have to start the process again...

Be careful, it is indeed a "WiFi connection" and not a direct WiFi...

Thank you,

The problem was with the Movistar Box.

It seems that it becomes overloaded when too many different devices are connected. This was the case after numerous visits to the house.

Everything is fine after resetting the network settings of all the mobile phones and iPads in the house, and completely resetting the box.

Yes, we don't talk about it much, but these BOXes often have a maximum quota for WiFi and Bluetooth connections...

Some have 64 devices, which is not bad, also 32 and 10, or even 5 for shared smartphones... and with teenagers watching high-definition series, you can get stuck for a good while.

You need to check from time to time... possibly remove some.

In the end, your story has a happy ending.
