Overload the network?

Hello,
I have a Livebox 5 offer with 500/500 and I want to buy a Wi-Fi repeater to use it as a router (open ports) and amplify the Wi-Fi. I would like to get a Wi-Fi 6 repeater to keep it for a long time.
But I just bought a 2.5G switch (for my NAS), and since it exceeds my line's capacity, I often experience internet outages. So, will a repeater allocate all the internet to one device and cause me internet outages?
Thank you

Hello,
No, there's no reason; a 2.5 Gbit/s port will be a bit less loaded than a 1 Gbit/s port for internet, but will provide (a little) more bandwidth to everyone for accessing the NAS locally.
As for the Wi-Fi 6 repeater, it can support more devices at the same time, but it doesn't give all the bandwidth to one device.
If you're experiencing disconnections, it's due to something else.
And there you go, voilà ....
But goodness, the line spacing is so annoying!!
