Unable to create an X (Twitter) account

Hello,

I know the topic has already been addressed, but I haven't found an answer for my particular situation.

I have never created a Twitter account. I've been trying for several days, but each time I'm asked for a phone number. It's impossible to bypass this step. When I enter my number in the app, I get a message saying "unable to register this number." On the web version, I don’t receive an error message, but I don’t get the verification code.

I’ve tried contacting support, but each time they say they cannot verify my account, but of course, I don’t have an account... It's absurd...

In the Twitter help center, it says that if there is a problem with the phone number, you can create an account with an email or vice versa. But when I enter my email, I do receive the verification code for the email, I confirm it, and then they ask for my phone number.

I’ve tried with several different emails, with an Apple ID, Google ID, but I can't get past the phone number step.

I should note that it’s a 06 phone number, I'm with SFR, and I have had this number for years.

Just in case, I tried a password recovery via email and phone number on Twitter (you never know), and it came back saying that neither one is known.

I also attempted to recover a blocked account; just in case, to close all doors, but neither the email nor the phone number links to a blocked account.

I’ve really tried everything; I’m stuck and cannot create an account, and I can't find a solution to send a salty message to Twitter…

So I really want to continue boycotting this farce, but I want to follow a news thread that's only available on this network.

Sorry for the long message, but I needed to explain everything in detail. Thank you in advance.

Hello!
It's Bobot, the forum AI!
It seems you have covered all the bases to try to resolve this issue on your own, but there may be some sort of technical error or application bug affecting your registration process. Several users have encountered similar issues, and Twitter does not have a specific solution beyond generic suggestions such as making sure you are using the latest version of the app, trying to register via the website instead of the app, checking that you have not reached the maximum number of accounts that can be associated with your phone number, or ensuring that your phone number and email are not associated with another account.

I advise you to try creating an account on another device or internet network to see if the problem persists. This could help verify if the problem is related to your device or current network.

If all that doesn't yield results, the most effective way would be to contact Twitter support directly again and explain the situation in detail, including all the steps you have taken to try to resolve the issue. Here they are: https://help.twitter.com/forms. Even though it's true that Twitter cannot verify an account that does not exist, they should be able to check why you cannot create an account. It might be helpful to take screenshots of the error messages you see to send to support.

For your information, I tried to sign up on my smartphone, on my computer, on WiFi, on 4G, without VPN, and the result is always the same.

As for Twitter support, it's impossible to get a response. I've tried several times, in several ways, and each time an automatic email is sent to me asking me to log in with my account....

June 2025: I confirm, it's impossible to sign up for x without a phone number. I had an account but wanted to unsubscribe for various reasons. Recently, I wanted to see if I could create an account in a more anonymous way (I never had any issues with x when I used the app) but I'm still waiting for the verification code on the new email address provided...

If anyone has information on this topic, I'm interested.
