Authentication page htaccess not displaying on Edge

Hello,

Using Free's personal pages with access restriction via .htaccess for over 20 years, I’m currently having issues on some browsers where the popup for me to identify myself is being blocked.

I’ve looked everywhere but can’t find how to authorize its display. Mozilla and Chrome offer the authentication page, while Edge directly returns to Free with “Error 401 – Access to resource denied.”

And since the GPO (Group Policy) doesn’t allow me to modify many Edge settings, I tried:
- allowing JavaScript
- allowing Pop-ups and redirects
- even allowing the Free domain
But nothing helps.

I can’t find anything about this authentication page not appearing. And it’s not for lack of searching...

If anyone has a lead, I’d really like to know it!

Thanks in advance.

Thank you but it changes nothing (on Edge)

The problem has existed for a very long time and only Edge does not offer me the overlay/popup that allows authentication. On Chrome this action would have allowed me to re-login, but on Edge it is impossible to log in
