5.1 Usage via blt

Hello, I found an amplifier (a 5.1 active subwoofer with a 20cm driver from Global Sphere) with 2 speakers (JBL LX1GR Rear) for 35€ on LBC, everything works but I would like to use it in 5.1, but my double RCA to jack cable does not allow me to do so; so, does anyone know how I could make my amplifier work in 5.1, ideally through Bluetooth?

Best regards

Hello,

What is the reference (Brand and model) of this amplifier?

But achieving 5.1 with 3 speakers seems compromised to me.

For 5.1, you need: a center speaker, 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers, and a subwoofer.

Hello, yes I forgot to mention that I received 2 non-amplified HPs for free, and soon another one for the center.

But for the amplifier, it is 20 years old and is no longer on the market, it is from the brand Global Sphere but I don’t have the reference.

Best regards

At the back of the Global Sphere amplifier, there is certainly a label where the model is written.

it is simply written: modelN° HC-36 active subwoofer amplifiers

230v/50hz 80w

So these are not stereo RCA inputs but 5.1 inputs, one RCA per channel.

So you will need a decoder converter of this type.

https://www.amazon.fr/R%C3%A9cepteur-Bluetooth-Convertisseur-Num%C3%A9rique-Analogique/dp/B0CCS49KSV102

It also does Bluetooth.

OK, thanks, this is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for, but isn't there anything under 50€? I bought 4 speakers for 35€, I think it's silly to spend more than 2x that for an unexpected expense :/

Okay... No echo on the web... :o(

Can you show me a picture showing the possible connections at the back of this amplifier?

If this amplifier is capable of outputting to 5 speakers, and it only has stereo inputs, then it should convert stereo to 5.1 by itself.

To be able to use Bluetooth devices, you will need to pair it with a Bluetooth receiver.

I'm sorry I can't send a photo, but there are 6 holes (rca), one for the mid, one for the right, left, far right and far left. There are also 5 positive terminals and 5 negative ones to connect the speakers.

There are also cheaper converter decoders of the same type, without Bluetooth.

Example https://www.amazon.fr/Convertisseur-Num%C3%A9rique-Analogique-D%C3%A9codeur-Coaxial/dp/B09BCH5N6Z

But with Bluetooth, this is the cheapest one I found.

On the converter from message #9 (without Bluetooth), you can add, to the AUX input, a Bluetooth receiver of this type: https://www.amazon.fr/Transmetteur-r%C3%A9cepteur-Bluetooth-haut-parleurs-adaptateur/dp/B0BHXXWGF4

or https://www.amazon.fr/Adaptateur-Bluetooth-recepteur-transmetteur-%C3%A9metteur-r%C3%A9cepteur/dp/B0BN87G4N8
