Hello
I'm looking for a solution to lock the "no spacing" option in the "styles" window or section. To try to achieve this, I clicked on the arrow located at the bottom right, and in the new window, I indicated or selected "no spacing". I clicked on "options" and checked: new documents based on this template. This selection does not solve the problem because "no spacing" is systematically replaced by "normal".
Do you have a solution to lock the "no spacing" option?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello
I don’t understand what you mean by “freezing the 'no spacing' paragraph style”...
If your problem is entering text most of the time without spacing, you just need to modify the Normal style.
A "template" is not a style. So, “new document based on this template” doesn’t mean that your new documents will default to the “no spacing” style.
You need to modify the Normal style: click on it, then Modify.
- In the Modify Style window, click on the Format arrow at the bottom and choose “Paragraph”.
- Under the Indents and Spacing tab, for line spacing, choose “single”.
- Click OK and check “New documents based on this template”.
- OK.

Marina,
Hello
I haven't been able to find or figure out the solution for the "normal" style, click "on it."
The "style" page offers either "normal" or "no line spacing." I want to use "no line spacing" permanently, and I've used a word that doesn't seem appropriate, "panel."
Thank you for letting me know which path I need to take to find "normal." I think it's a file. My question might surprise you, but my knowledge is very limited, and I don't know where to find the document or file "normal."
Thanks for the help provided.

So, another solution that amounts to the same thing, but might be a bit simpler by using the right-click.
- Type a one-liner text using the Normal style. End with a paragraph return.
- Right-click on this text and choose "Paragraph," which opens the Paragraph dialog box.
- In the dialog box, under the Indents and Spacing tab, select Line Spacing: Single.
- Click on Set As Default and in the Word prompt, check "All documents based on the Normal.dotm template." Then OK.

Hello,
Am I using the suggestions incorrectly? When the "modify style" page is on the screen, I click and validate "new documents based on this template." I suspect that this does not concern "line spacing."
I click on "format" - paragraph - and I select "single" line spacing.
I cannot validate this action because the "set as default" option is inactive.
After a restart, I check and the new settings have not been saved? The "normal" line spacing is displayed.
How can I activate "set as default"?
Thank you for your help.

Good evening
In my last explanation, I didn't say to choose Modify the style, but simply to display the Paragraph dialogue box from a paragraph based on the Normal style.
Both options will change the style of the future documents.
If you open the Styles dialogue box and check "New documents based on this template," all future documents will have all the attributes of this Normal style. (my first solution). If you check this option, the other one is greyed out since it is handled by the first.
If you check the "set as default" option while just opening the Paragraph dialogue box, only paragraph type modifications will be saved for new documents (my second solution).
I would love to talk to you about a third solution, but it's better to stop here!!! :D
