My television has a black screen. Only the blue indicator light at the bottom of the screen is on, showing that the TV is powered, but it is impossible to turn on the screen with the remote control or by pressing the touch buttons at the bottom of the screen.

If someone could help me, that would be great.

Otherwise, where could I get some information?

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

It's difficult to diagnose through the Forum... How old is this TV?

It is rated for a service life of 50,000 hours, which is about 5.5 years at 24/7... so 11 years at 12 hours a day, etc...

Released in July 2012, it is a maximum of 12 years old... It shouldn't be just old age..!

Haven't you had any storms or flooding..?

If the screen is completely black without a single message displayed, you could connect it to a computer via VGA or HDMI, for example, to see if it shows anything..?

If you're receiving via the internet, your decoder might be faulty or if via satellite, has the dish moved..?

You can also unplug the wall socket for 5 minutes, then plug it back in, wait a bit... see what happens...

There might also be an option to perform a "factory reset"... which resets everything (check the manual)

Beyond that, it's probably an internal failure in your TV... I don't know how far your TV repair skills go...? Otherwise, you'll need to consider having a professional technician come or directly buy another one...

Thank you for your quick response.

This TV belongs to a friend who asked me to see if I could fix it, knowing me.

I had thought of trying to connect it to a computer to see if I can turn the screen on. I see that you are also considering this possibility.

I will give it a try and keep you updated.

Best regards,

Alain

I just tried connecting my laptop to the TV with an HDMI cable, the TV screen stays black even when I'm playing a video on the laptop.

What do you think about this problem?

I don't think highly of it...

Maybe we should check all the fuses you can find in this TV, you never know...

And the factory reset..??

Otherwise, I'm afraid that some circuits have failed inside this TV...

Statistically, the power supply is the first one.

But on a forum, without a schematic and without touching the equipment, it's mission impossible.

Thank you very much for your help and your answers.

I have decided to give up because it is practically impossible to find electronic boards on the internet.

I found a motherboard on Cdiscount for €597.42 and a power supply on All Matrix for €125.10. Which is way too expensive.

You are great. Thanks again.

And you didn't see anything suspicious inside..?

But then again, it's true that oftentimes, it ends like this...

Sometimes you can find used cards on eBay... tested and functional guaranteed from a reputable seller (also check on eBay UK)

And if that's not the problem... the situation can get complicated with your friend.. and your wallet...

There you go, A+++
