Microsoft OneDrive Storage Issue

Hello

I deleted photos from OneDrive and emptied the recycle bin, reducing my storage from 5 gigabytes to 3 gigabytes.

The next day I receive another message from Microsoft because the storage is over 5GB.

All the photos are restored and I'm sure I deleted them properly and I checked that the recycle bin is empty.

It’s basically a scam to make us pay like Google Photos, I want to save all my photos on my PC to end these scams.

Could you please tell me how to do that and how to stop this synchronization permanently.

Thank you very much in advance

Hello,

The term scam may be an exaggeration, but it is clear that Microsoft is pushing hard with OneDrive (for example: default saving of Word documents in the cloud).

If you want to sever ties, you will need to disable synchronization on all your devices.

On a smartphone (running Android), go to Settings > Accounts and backups > Account management and click on your email address associated with OneDrive to find the unsync option.

On a computer (running Windows), right-click on the OneDrive icon in the notification area (to the right in the taskbar). You can access settings and stop synchronization.

What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to say it come easily.

Hello,

It's unusual to refer to "scams" at every turn: Microsoft offers 5 GB of free space, no one forces us to use it, and what is free cannot be a "scam".

Remember that the cumulative space relates to everything linked to your Microsoft account (for example, also the Microsoft email inboxes).

If you're not satisfied with this space, there's nothing preventing you from uninstalling One Drive.

If you want to stay within the limits, you need to clean up globally (including the email inboxes), and regarding One Drive itself, choose what you want to synchronize or not:

Apartment I have offended some sensitivities, I qualify as a scam, the system that is installed and synchronized without your consent.

Moreover, it is indeed a scam or a good joke when your OneDrive itself notes that your storage has gone from 5GB to 3GB and congratulates you only to restore all the deleted photos the next day and ask you to pay again!

Of course, I shouldn't have questioned the gods of the net and our PCs, I just wanted to know if we can remove all our photos from OneDrive to save them on our PC.

Thank you in advance for your help.

You are even less likely to have offended me since I do not use a Microsoft account, I live just fine without it, and therefore no One Drive has been installed without my consent and no free scam.

One must be logical: if we delete contents on One Drive but they still exist on the PC in a synchronized folder, One Drive is doing its job, it synchronizes again.

It seems to me that I said how to proceed: you need to remove the One Drive synchronization at least from the folder containing the photos in question, then delete them from the Drive.

Or, if as you claim One Drive has been installed against your will, simply uninstall it or disable it.
